Although the g502 mouse I currently use is an excellent mouse, I’m wanting to purchase a new one. I want one with more buttons. Suggestions?
Steelseries Rival 500 but they stopped making it and mine is crapping out. Disappointing to say the least.
I’m probably in the vast Minority here, but I use Logitech GPro, which is primarily used for FPS gaming.
Steel series rival 600.

I have the 700. Loved it since I got it a few years back.
Razer Naga Trinity
Yea I love steel series.
Got headset, mouse, keyboard and the big mouse pad that is like half my desk and it all lights up.
I use the logitech g604 lightspeed amd absolutely love it. 13 buttons total.
Logitech Mx518
( my work laptop has a Logitech G700S … for some reason )
Razer Naga Trinity with removable faceplates for 2-7-12 buttons
That’s what I use as well.
Great suggestions, all. I will look into all of the mentioned suggestions.
Logitech G203. Modern looking mouse with a decent price. Not bulky or 20 extra buttons on the side.
I used Razer Naga’s for years. Then I suddenly have them just start going bad. The first one I had lasted for years. The last one lasted two months before buttons weren’t working etc
Then I saw a Logitch G600 MMO edition on Amazon for much less. So I gave that a shot.
Bought it in June of 2019 and still using it.
g502 was my love for years ! i had to change to something lighter for my hand. many people enjoy mmo mice but my fingers don’t reach the multi buttons. I decided on g305 , with triple A lithium battery. cheap solution but quality , very light and responsive, great for shooters also.
I suggest to get great information from the reddit mouse page also
Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Mouse – Ergonomic Design with Sculpted Right-Hand Shape, Compatible with Apple Mac / Microsoft, USB Unifying Receiver, Dark Gray,
This is my go to mouse cause I’m usually in bed half asleep
I also use the Naga Trinity.
I used to use the steelseries cataclysm wow mouse.
I miss it, but finally got used to the Naga and I don’t need to hunt down this discontinued god tier mouse any more.
that has less buttons than the g502.
@OP
I have tried to find a decent replacement to the Logitech G502 for many years, but nothing has what I am looking for: same ergonomic feel (indent + that shelf for the thumb) and maybe 1 or 2 more buttons, and something with decent macro support so I don’t have to repeatedly click buttons to get spells as they come off CD.
I have not found anything that fits my criteria better than the G502. Most “MMO” mice have too many buttons and are not comfortable, and very few other mice actually put a decent set of buttons for the thumb to press (most just have 2).
What I have done to increase the number of functional buttons is binding Shift + buttons and CNTRL + buttons along with mouse wheel up and down (plus shift + control modifiers). That gives a lot of binds.
Something else to consider is getting a gaming keypad instead to give your left hand thumb something to press. I use a razor tartarus for that giving my left thumb a directional pad (4 buttons) + a spacebar, + 1 more button.
I use a roccat nyth. 1 extra button between left and right click, a toggle switch and 12 buttons on the side that are removeable and come with different configuration setups/buttons.
Despite removable, the switches have really held up and stood the test of time. Ive had mine for close to 5 years of reasonably heavy gameplay. I had nagas before this and id chew through one of those in about 18 months.
Unfortunately it is discontinued but there are still some floating around (i just learned this myself. Going to buy a few extras for when i eventually wear it out. No king rules forever after all)
