What makes Paladins awesome?

What do you like most about playing a Paladin?

If you main a Paladin, how long have you? …And what keeps you playing it?

Thanks in advance

I’ve played one since vanilla. While he wasn’t really my main until WLK, and I have deliberately tried to make different toons my main in certain expansions, he has never been far behind, and often ends up becoming my main again before the end.

They’re just the most fun to me. They feel safe. You can charge into the fray and feel confident that you will survive, regardless of whether or not you kill the enemy. They can damage, heal or tank. They have cool looking spells and plenty of awesome armor. Their whole aesthetic is just cool.

The ability to judge others is just role play, not being rude

Dwarves can be paladins, which is the best reason imo. I’ve played a pally since vanilla-- mained it in BC, LK, and MoP. I like the versatility of having 3 roles available, although holy has been mostly dead to me since the Legion rework.

Been leveling this one all week. I hope I find out soon!

The animations, especially for a melee spec, are S tier.
Usually in melee it’s hard for me to see whats going on.
But I can still see my Judgement hammer falling down ontop of my enemies head.
Or my Blade of Justice coming up from the ground.

I’ve played since Legion, and mained paladin ever since.

They’re just fun to play, have a great survivability and they just look amazing.
BFA corruption glimmerdin was the most fun I had playing a spec ever, that was my top choice for m+ and raids.
Then for other content, I just swap to dps or tank if I think I might die.
The animations are just spot on, and the wings effect added on BFA is just cheff’s kiss.

What keeps me playing it? I’m not sure, I have every class at max level, and I play with them all, but I always go back to my pally. I’m just attached to her.

Closest thing to a spell blade other then death knights.

They are also your typical knight in shining armor that people loves to role play medevil themes with.

They pretend to be warriors every two minutes and they try to be priests when the priests aren’t looking.

They rock pink and are wow’s glam show.

It just wouldn’t be the same if Leroy Jenkins wasn’t one.

Being able to pull 15 mobs as a rettankadin during Wrath and still living. Being able to solo old world elites without much of a sweat while leveling. And being a mighty wielder of the light fighting against the darkness with my amazing prowess and good looks.

Survivability. Who wants to live forever? Also I keep maining it in hopes of it returning to it’s glory days inspite of our class designer’s lack of understanding of the class, it’s history, and current ongoing issues.

Still paying that tax for being so strong in Wrath.

Holy warriors can be fun especially if you do it right. I never went super hard on the holier than though side, but she did have a vengeance streak for a bit since she was from Lordaeron. It let me evolve her story over the years and really give her depth.

Mostly though I like flinging hammers of light around me and watching things perish.

Technically shes been my main a few times but isn’t right now. She likely will be in DF though again. So on again off again for 4 years?

What keeps me playing is my love of the character I’ve created and the generally effective nature of the class for most situations. Ret is generally pretty good across the board even if it falls in the rankings sometimes.

Thank you for inquiring.

Light watch over you.

Ok, don’t be weird, dude.

I like how your Retail one looks older than your Classic one. Makes sense!

When I first started back in Cataclysm my main was a BElf Palidan. I liked the fact that I could both fight and heal then fight some more.

A while back I switched my main to MM Hunter because it’s less work, more fun but I still have my BElf Paladin which I use on occasion.

Oh, I’m far past being weird! But thanks anyways.

I have mained this girl right here since Cata. Holy Paladin for life!

However, I played a belf holy pally in Wrath, healing ICC. Those were still the days that Divine Intervention was still around in its original form. I also tanked, very briefly, in Wrath and then fully taught myself how to tank by leveling up from scratch on a femme dorf pally.

I like the lore of Paladins. It sorta follows my own irl philosophy on things. Not so much for the pseudo-religious aspect, but more the righteous protector/healer thing. I’ve worked in the healthcare field, and have gotten in to some very dicey situations - had chairs slammed in to me, been punched in the face numerous times, been scratched to holy hell, nails gouged into me, etc etc. So, I like to say I have “healed and tanked irl”.

I like the WoW lore for Pallys. Tirion is one of my favorite characters, as is Arthas. They did both of them downright dirty, and I will be harping about that for forever now. I loved the Pally mount quest back in the day. The weapons quest. The usefulness of a Pally in places like Scholo and Strath.

Pally’s are awesome.
