Imma be completely and brutally honest here . . . This is the first Illumination film I’m actually looking forward to . . .
Guess Nintendo marched down to Illumination’s HQ and said “Yea your gonna put money into other parts of this movie besides voice talent” and by god it shows.
but hey time will tell, will it be akin to the live action film of the past? or a surprise hit like Sonic was?
It is a 2 hour advertisement for the next Mario game and next Switch revision. Overall looks respectful of the source material, Nintendo probably demanded some level of quality control. It could make some money in its own right, though.
Idk! I havent watched it!
That’s brutally honest?
“I’m looking forward to a movie”
Oh dang, the deep truth bombs you’re dropping are too powerful for this forum to handle.
ooooooooh hush up and take in the positivity, its good for you.
The trailer looked amazing, I loved the humor being portrayed with the penguins. Wasn’t in the trailer, but I’m most looking forward to Charlie Day playing Luigi. Even if Luigi doesn’t get much screen time this time around, then I look forward to the eventual sequel.
Just imagining Luigi with the craziness Charlie Day brings is a treat in itself.
I thought it would be less cartoony and be live action like sonic. I’m surprised they went this direction.
Could of been a 93 remake or part 2.
New.
That universal already has its own smash bros multiverse.
I wish it was more Live Action because she’s Ann Taylor Joy, and like Princess Daisy in the 1993 movie without that see-through dress, I think she would look good as Princess Peach.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t mess it up with other Nintendo movies like I have a feeling how bad the Metroid movie is going to be.
Visually it looks stunning.
I think if they went with a live action movie it would have looked goofy as heck jumping around on mushrooms etc.
Voice didn’t bother me and it’s too short there since later in it, I picked up on the mario inflections but overall if it is just his own voice without any change then that’s gonna be annoying.
I genuinely wanted a live action… but this looks like it’ll be a nice enjoyment for the younger kids.
