What is wrong with the GMs

we rolled for loot at the end of the dungeon, that i as present for and i never got the axe, im the only one that rolled need and our healer didnt roll at all. been waiting in the dungeon for 5 mins now to wait out the timer…

If you are missing loot, try to log out, log back in, and then check your in-game mailbox, as the Postmaster system will send loot to your mailbox from the following activities:

  • Instances
  • World Bosses
  • One-time only treasure chests

However, the Postmaster will not send:

  • Quest items
  • Bind on Equip items
  • Items left on corpses in the outside world
  • Profession items lost due to having no free inventory space
  • Currencies

WoW Classic and Wrath Classic

Unlooted items in WoW Classic are not sent to your mailbox. Items that aren’t looted will remain on the corpse until it despawns. Resetting an instance will cause corpses to despawn, and all unlooted items will be lost.

Customer Support does not assist with reclaiming loot that was left behind for any reason. If you believe you have experienced a bug with looting, please report it as a bug:

I’m Game Master Irmerenir and I took some time to go through the message you’ve sent us - thank you so much for that and for the time you have been waiting for an answer on our behalf.

I checked this further and it seems that you did get the axe but you disenchanted it afterwards. So, in this case it seems you would have to use the item restoration tool as Customer Support doesn’t restore items. If you’re currently on the cooldown and you can’t restore your item, you will need to wait until this cooldown finishes J****.

Keep in mind that items may take a bit to show up as they may not show right after you sold or deleted them. Items that don’t show up and you can’t restore yourself are permanently lost and have been purged from our database as we don’t save deleted/vendored items forever. This means that they are not recoverable and not even Customer Support can assist here under any circumstance.

i literally havent played my pally in days waiting for this to resolve so i can use my axe… how much longer are u gonna take to solve this? u have literally wasted like 3 days on bullsht responses because u didnt properly read what ive said. how much more of my time are u going to waste?

What you are asking is not something a GM can assist with. They cannot restore loot that is not in their logs. It seems like whatever happened is a known bug so hopefully going forward no one else has to lose an item. But they cannot just give you the ace because you said you are sure you won.

I’m unsure how you rolled for loot and won in a dungeon, it’s personal loot and not group loot. There is nothing to roll on.

Your ticket responses honestly weren’t very clear at all unfortunately. Reading through them I have no idea what item or dungeon you are referring to. While it won’t help much in this case as a GM cannot restore loot like this, going forward it’s best to keep to the facts when opening tickets. The character affected, server, date/time, item or dungeon in question. Giving them a hard time, asking if they read, going off on side tangents, etc is not helpful and will just muddy the waters.

did’nt think i had to go into TOO much detail since they have their own logs, was generalized because they can look up where i was, what i was doing, ect. i think ur reading too much into it also. by “rolling loot” i was reffering to the automated loot system…
and they NEVER come through with anything. their customer service is awful

Blizzard GMs have always had rules that they need to follow when making restorations. Unfortunately, if their logs do not show that you should have received the item, then they are not allowed to simply ‘take your word’ on it.

I’m sure that you can at least understand why they have to have that sort of minimum requirement. Otherwise, I just misplaced millions of gold and an AH mount.

I get that you’re upset that they can’t help in this case, nor can they in any case where the logs can’t be verified. In that way, anyone asking for a restoration that can’t be backed up with their data will indeed have the same outcome.

But that certainly doesn’t mean that GMs are “never” able to help people out.

Sorry that they weren’t able to in this case.

Because it bugged out. That’s literally why they couldn’t see it. For a GM, it would be as if no loot was generated so there was nothing in the logs.

The main issue is this: Unless the loot is in your bag, the loot isn’t yours. You can roll on a lot of things doesn’t mean it belongs to the player. The only time they can see who owns what is when its place in the player’s bag.

Sure, but giving them a starting point is always better than not.

There are two different loot systems in the game, one where you roll and one where you don’t. In this case your place and loot distribution methods where mixed up. A GM would then have to figure out which one was actually the correct version. Naming and using correct terms are important, especially since GMs help out with all blizzard games and not just WoW.

I can understand being upset at this situation, but it seems like the GM’s were as helpful as they were able to be. Without being able to confirm that you received the axe in question, they were not able to restore it.

I know it can be disheartening but it is the way things are and almost have always been. I am not trying to lay blame, but this certainly one of those times where being detailed in your tickets truly help.

By mentioning the specific dungeon and the type of run it was and the exact item missing, they would of been less confused about mentioning the axe that wasn’t the one that you were looking for and “wasting” your time in having you restore the wrong item and some back and forth between tickets.

You stated that you submitted a bug report, and although I didn’t read the bug report. I am under the assumption that it is clear and concise with as much detail that you can muster about the situation. Dungeon, Heroic, Item, all of that information will be helpful. That way the devs can use that information as efficiently as possible and help ensure that it benefits others in future.

there is a lot more info than what u see. there’s a whole prompt on the item, location. ect. why would i put it twice?

Then that is all you can do. IF the GM’s are allowed to distribute loot IF the bug gets fixed, then the answer may change. But for now, there is no redistribution of loot for this issue. So once you posted the info in the Bug Report Forum, the issue is over until a fix is implemented.

To be honest, all of it reads as you’re expecting the GMs to hand you the axe because you made the ticket. They made it rather clear that they can’t hand you it when it isn’t looted. No loot in bag =/= no item to give/restore.

No one’s trolling you chief. We are just going off the information provided and informing you of the policies.

When the ticket was closed out you have a chance to provide feedback about the service provided. If you are just trying to convey your disappointment in the GMs that would be the best place to provide it.

It’s not here on the Customer Support Forums. Although commonly confused for Customer Service, this forum is primarily for customers to assist customers with anything that we can.

Examples include but are not limited to. Helping explain policies, pointing people in the right direction to where they can post a concern or idea. Even on occasion we have been known to help give help on quests.

Generally speaking, Barragann, Game Masters tend to be hands off most looting situations. The first few Game Masters tried to provide advice on acquiring the loot, as you can see, and what to do if you encountered a bug, such as not receiving the loot after winning the roll.

The last Game Master tried to discover what may have happened to the axe and as you noted the name of the item in your first ticket, and noticed that you had a Whitefin Axe in your deleted inventory that you had disenchanted. Granted this axe was acquired from a couple of days prior, but I’m afraid that is the only mention of that axe that was found.

I am sorry that we were unable to assist in this case, if you wish to provide feedback regarding the responses you have received you should receive a survey when the ticket is marked resolved.
