In my experience in LFG since MoP’s pre-patch launched, Tanks from the Faerlina server are often very selfish, “holier-than-thou”, and rude, as well as rush off to wall-to-wall pull before most of the party is finished even loading in. No dialogue, no warning, certainly no consideration for the healer they’re ostensibly reliant on, and DPS from there ninja pull and play pretend tank tryina do the same thing more often than not too!
Now I’m no stranger to wall-to-wall pulls, I’m very comfortable with that style of tanking, chain pulling between bosses is fairly common, I’m also fairly used to the kinds of people that play World of Warcraft that tend to be… maladjusted, let’s say, so I try and avoid making such large, sweeping, general statements like this but
this just. keeps. happening.
and it keeps happening with folks FROM Faerlina way more often than other servers.
It seems like, overwhelmingly, most people I match with from there have this mentality of “go go go, rush rush rush” that you just don’t see nearly as often from other servers. What’s going on over there?
I’m all for slamming out a dungeon all fast-like, I enjoy an optimized carry or two even, but having repeatedly seen Tanks out-pacing the entire party and sometimes getting KILLED to try and speedrun it, all the while either refusing to be communicative at all or being completely stand-offish and ignoring requests to just cool it a little is just… Bizarre? Particularly when few other (or NO other) party members have the movement options that they do.
Now again, I wouldn’t say anything if this wasn’t just some marginal or niche handful of cases, but there’s dozens and dozens and dozens of instances where I’ve seen this weird unspoken “keep up with ME or the trash will eat your face” behavior followed by a combination of dazzling movement tech that sends them half a dungeon away from the rest of the party, often skipping trash that blocks the path.
…I’ve started having to buy Potions of Swiftness in bulk just to keep up with some of these tanks, and I still can’t keep up sometimes because it turns out THEY ALSO buy Potions of Swiftness to outpace the party!
I don’t know, it just feels really strange to me, and it’s becoming more and more common for me to see. I’ve seen other folks in-game complaining about this too, so like, am I (are we) overreacting? Is this really just a skill issue, or like, what?
