Like, are they supposed to be some sort of story because I personally don’t get anything out of it except killing mobs for keys? It just seems very confusing as I have no idea about what is happening. Was is supposed to be something different that go cut? Like a Torghast style dungeon with floors that told an actual story about the history of the world? I would be down with more Black Empire stuff… but it just feels entirely disconnected from everything right now.
the main point it to get the delve keys and just kill mobs and good rewards
I agree it’s just killing mobs to get valor stones and key fragments…
Some sort of story would have been nice it’s just meh, actually below meh for me
In short yes.
The World Soul Memories are in-game representations of the “visions” some characters are having at the moment, like Anduin, and Thrall and Orwenya. Something like “Azeroth’s leaking memories around the zones”.
It does feel very disconnected from the main story, especially because there are no quests tying them to anything and well… they are very lackluster in purposes as well as implementation.
In addition to key shards, the valorstones reward is pretty good imo.
There is no story either. You have no idea what is going on, just random mobs and random elite mobs that you poke for points.
There are achievements and a toy connected to them, if you are into that.
It would have been nice if they were fun too. I mean… in a general sense running around and randomly killing mobs is kind of fun, I guess? But with no connection to anything other than a vague association with the Radiant Song stuff, and no quests or tactical game play, it is pretty sorry for something so central to player progression. Feels pretty phoned in.
The only “story” is when you read the message over the event on the map:
“A painful memory of Azeroth’s past.” Meaning these are Azeroth’s memories she is manifesting. That is as much as you can gather so far. I imagine more will come as the saga continues.
Lord knows, Blizzard finds it amusing to be obtuse about anything, only all the time.
You can get an extra key or two for delves out of them each week.
it feels like pre-patch, and NOT in a good way
there is one in undermine that gives us a little but more than just painful memory, but its very VERY basic, like 2 whole sentences of goblin lore
I think they’re pointless content
No, I understand the basic concept and I get the story beats from the map, but once you get there and start the event it is just… “what am I doing, what is the point” type of feeling.
I don’t bother with World Soul Memories, even if they do drop coffer key fragments.
Also, I think you need a group of players to get the most out of them, don’t you?
It helps, but if you’re geared up enough you can burn through them enough to make it worth it. If you are short on valor stones or keys. I have a bunch of alts, so I can get more than I can use by just doing the four “world activities” that produce them.
You get coffer key fragments from them which can be turned into keys for bountiful delves. That’s the main point.
I think the different types of mobs are just for flavor and represent random memories from azeroth.
First off, I love your outfit and hope they make you a matching mushroom bow real soon.
My dwarven priest was having that problem with everything in Dragonflight (so she abandoned it and went back to the Outlands for mog).
I feel like there has been a shift in development order. I feel like the idea was thought of and then the rewards were assigned but they forgot to include the character’s motivation.
I am a goomba! I get to live my Mario fantasy out. So I appreciate the comments! Also, this is exactly what it feels like. Like they came up with it and then were like, good enough, ship it.
Think they might of worked with unique mogs like islands. As it stands… they are pretty dead
