What is the point of appealing a wrongful ban when wait times are up to 20 days for a response?

Do you live in Canada?

The amount of people that have came on the forums, and say that thier Ban was not justified… and when the watcher or somebody else high rank look at it and say yeah you did deserve to get banned and here is why…

Just saying

why don’t people believe this guy?

i’ve been mass reported & punished in games before - and i def didn’t break the rules…overwatch specifically, but i’ve seen evidence of this happening in WoW too.

The automated system is a fail, and it promotes bullying imo :100:

it needs to be re-imagined, and with real customer service reps tbh :two_hearts:

These people have just been luckily sheltered to not see the same crap we have Saithis. And FYI 20 day response times are ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and the fact that some people are okay with it is yikes yall.

New world had a similar automated banning system, guilds would mass report members of the enemy guild to get them banned as they had to defend their territories.

Literally yes. They have a large team of support, it’s not just five people in an office.

I just laughed my butt off. What team? 20 day tickets? I am not convinced.

Again…
Different game…

So, what’s the difference in wait time to get a ticket appealed in retail vs. classic? Anyone want to shed some light?

If people think this game still has a large support team I have a boat to sell them.

Nope. It’s been 14.99 + tax for a good while now. I get the 6 month sub because it saves a few bucks.

Yep. This is why I keep all banter on discord with guildies and no written chat of any kind in game except “HI”. It’s the best way to snowflake proof your conversation. Even if someone pops in your discord and whines to Blizzard there isn’t squat they can do about it.

they use the same system in WoW though? :grimacing:

I actually do think the price went up for other countries. I would have to look into it but I know thats not relevant to a U.S forum Board.

Because they are clearly just trying to get attention and not listen to folks who have explained how things work
Especially when you take into consideration this is their fourth thread created on this topic, and out of these four two of 'em have been closed due to them just trying to debate the factual information
And they are doing it here as well, including with them outright lying about “subscription costs going up” (I’m sorry but the cost of the game is set in dollars, if you pay in a different currency you pay for the difference between that currency and the dollar - if a currency is stronger than the dollar, you end up paying less; if it is weaker, you end up paying more; global economics 101)

These people out here acting like all of us are lieing is honestly funny. I tell you people gonna find out themselves. LOL it takes one person to start a witch hunt and 6-10 other yes men.

When you get reported for language, all chat logs for a certain period of time before and (if applicable) after said reported thing get sent in with the reports. I think it’s like 5-10 lines?

I think it’s to try to give context for the report.

It’s why I tell people who just cussed someone out who insists they’re going to report someone not to, because they’ll get silenced. EDIT: I for one believe cuss word should be allowed in the game, just not used deragatorily. So I don’t report people who do cuss. This is 2022. Cuss Words aren’t taboo.

I see someone posted a blue post explaining this a bit further, but in case someone doesn’t see that.

Bans usually increase based on how many you have. If you appeal and get it overturned, that’s one less ban on your account, meaning you will have a lesser ban than you would the next time.

For instance, I’ve had 4 Forum Silences (cough which I still wholeheartedly disagree with cough). 1 Day, 1 Day, 1 Day, and 3 Days. I have no doubt my next one will probably be like 7 days.

Blizzard keeps it vague on purpose, but last I remember in the CS forums long ago when I used to spend time there, is that they say you can only post an ad once every 1-3 minutes.

They may have clarified how often since I was there, but that’s the last statement I remember reading.

You very likely will not get actioned if you accidentally double click. They will take a look at the logs to see if it’s a repeating pattern.

EDIT: For example, I had an in-game silence overturned because my macro bugged and was spamming my group in a BG without me noticing. The GM looked at the logs and agreed it was obviously an accident and reversed it. (It was like #showtooltip over and over or something like that lol)

You admitted you violated the CoC in private communication though, and that that was the reason for your ban.

They can and will still action you for things done in private. It’s just much rarer because those people are less likely to report you.

Seems like you got unlucky and the reports for your ad just happened to coincide within a few lines of saying inappropriate things in a private chat with friends.

In Canada it used to also be $15, then it went up to 18.99 currently, but with taxes etc, it ends up closer to 22.

Because they/you are, and have categorically had things explained to you, but you ignore it to stir up people - nothing more and nothing less
