I know Azeroth Auto Pilot is BiS in retail, is it still BiS in Classic or is there a different addon? What are u guys using for your fresh/level 1 alts?
People say Questie but I’m looking for something a bit more… “automatic” like Azeroth Auto Pilot
Ideally I just want to turn my brain off and go “where the addon tells me” like how AAP does it with the big green arrow in the middle of the screen pointing me to the objectives
Zygor and RestedXP are the cringiest things I’ve seen playing WoW. One is subscription based, the other can cost more than a newly released triple AAA game (up to $75).
Speedrunners do their own routes. Normal players, like yourself, will be able to largely benefit from basically any guide available, especially when you consider the XP cut and the XP bonus that will come with the pre-patch. Besides, both Rested and Zygor can be obtained for free with a simple search on Google.
Guidelime was decent for Alliance for me. I’m going to try it for Horde when fresh launches. It’s about the same as AAP classic except it’s not a single guide start to finish. It’s for a single zone at a time so you can pick the zone path you want. I think you can download guides from anyone who has created them.
AAP works fine 95% of the time for me, it’s just the same exact route and gets stuck sometimes.
I’d pick a free one between those or any others you want to try, then add Questie for map markers.
Feel free to pay for something but I’d research it first, as free is a nice price for about the same thing.
It’s a bit outdated, since it was a vanilla era guide, but tactics (the main guy writing the rested xp speed guide) had a guidelime guide as well, that I’ve largely used for all my toons (and I’d wager his guidelime guide was his foundation for his latter rested xp work)… It was a horde guide and only to 60 though.
Guidelime in general is the best free addon for leveling, but it’s just a framework, and people have to actually submit guides behind that. I’ve used the flymo guide for tbc… Which is OK. I wouldn’t say it’s been super fast, however, and I blatantly level on my alts characters only when they’re rested just to avoid the end of blades edge for example, and about half of netherstorm, and 4/5ths of smv. Sadly the sweaty speed leveler guide makers all seem to try and monetize.
Get an auto turn in addon. Grab a list of what level each zone is. Do the quests in the zones appropriate for your level.
Anything else beyond that is stuff you should be able to tell how to do within the actual game, assuming you’re not taking a quest in the barrens that has you travel to hillsbrad and then back to the barrens
You’ll save the most time by not doing useless things like going to org to sell stuff in the AH, or just generally “wasting” time not questing (like trying to fill a WC group for an hour while you jump in circles around town). An addon isn’t going to address the time you waste on inefficiencies such as that, only discipline will
But in the end, who cares? Just have fun. If you’re that pressed about it though, focus on being dedicated to questing with no downtime. It shaves off a lot of hours compared to doing quests in a slightly more efficient route
You can see this in your play. Be super dedicated and don’t chat with anyone etc. you’ll level extremely fast. Then do the next level how you normally would, messaging people and doing random crap. It’ll be 30-50% slower than zero distractions. Now multiply that by a few days played. This is how people level faster. Just focusing. No app will address your in game ADHD
Blizzard’s boost to 58 is probably the fastest. If you’re going to pay for guides and try to race leveling, you may as well do that. Personally I play my own characters and just use questie.
So I tried out a few of the addons mentioned in here on throwaway level 1s first thing when I got home, I ended up going with AAP (Azeroth Auto Pilot) since I’m just so used to it by now. Thanks everyone
