With the addition of delves being a big pillar of solo end game content now, what class and spec is now the best for wanting to do stuff like delves, old raid content for collecting stuff, etc all solo?
Every class can do old raids, although I suspect DPS does them faster than tank or healer.
Every class can do delves too, as a matter of fact.
For me, some class I enjoy is “best” for them.

Druids. They’re the only class that can fulfill every single role archetype. And being able to harvest while in flight form is amazing!

There are some specific old raid fights that you can do solo easier as specific classes, like the Eonar fight in Antorus.
Mostly but it can sometimes be useful to have a tank spec for more recent expansions’ raids since you can’t always burn them down fast enough to ignore/skip painful mechanics.
I’d probably say Monks.

I would argue it’s a tie between Monk and Druid. I say a tie because Druid is still race restricted while Monk is not.
As for why, both classes are designed to fulfill the trinity as part of their kit.
Back in Cataclysm, I thought long and hard about this question. The character you see now is a result of the answer. Druid. Plain and simple. I can be a Tank, MDPS, RDPS, or healer. I move faster inside dungeons, can withstand most world bosses, and have solo’d 90% of the content in the game either during the expansion, or in the very next one. All the perks:
- Play any spec you like
- Move faster
- Interact with items in Flight and Travel forms
- Become a rideable ground or flying mount
- tons of transmogs
- Fast and efficient questing
- Feral form has stealth to skip trash
- Tank is almost unkillable
- Boomkin hits hard
- Shapeshifting is amazing
- Falling to your death out of combat? Just turn into a raven
- Instant dungeon queues as tank or heals
The list is endless. Prot Pally is about the only other purely solo class I play. Although, TBF, my Mechagnome Mage is probably the most utilitarian in the game and the only things it CAN’T do is tank, or pick pockets. Otherwise my little Arcane Engineer is probably just as self sufficient as my Druid.

Unfortunately, I don’t yet have a character of each class levelled and those that are levelled are my quirky builds that are likely far from optimal and all over the place in terms of ilvl and what tier I’m doing with them. So I can’t really compare any of their delve experiences against each other.
Guardian Druids hands down

Id say you are already it. A tank pet and your dps and heals can handle almost anything solo.

I’m gonna go with Druid over monk since Druid can be a ranged dps if need be and monk is just melee

Starting in 11.0.5, I plan on running my Beast Mastery Hunters through the old raids.
Guardian, Protection Warrior and Blood are my comfort solo/chill specs, but really you can get away with most things. Mage/Shadow/Warlock are generally the least enjoyable, though, be it due to lack of sustain, ability to quickly aoe trivial stuff or mobility.
Prot Pally is fun for soloing.
Delves are easy, but maybe swap to Ret for Zek’vir for the extra burst.
BM Hunter is supposed to be the best spec for solo content. You’re a DPS class with a pocket tank agroing stuff (Clef pet), also with a skill that heals that pet HP constantly… BUT, Blizz hates BM Hunter for “reasons”, so there is that…

I have done delves on 7 different classes now and hunters are so so much easier to do them on that class
With one MAJOR caveat.
As a druid, you’re often shape-shifted and can’t see your character’s gear as much. Fine for some, I guess; but still an obstacle for many.
For soloing in general, self-healing tanks are typically at the forefront. After a certain point, you’re unkillable and can outlast most foes without an enrage timer.
But Blizz’ crazy damage multipliers mean all classes crush content they over-level.
Don’t mean to hijack your post but, what is the best class for solo pvp?
Is there any reason why being able to fulfill every role makes a class good at soloing content? Multiple people have said this and I have no idea why that would matter when it comes to like soloing old raids or doing delves or something.
