I always wonder here and there what is something from Retail that I whis was in TBC. For me its only a few things like modern interfaces such as the new AH interface, the modern Looking For Group interface.
But one thing I really wish we will get in TBC, more so in Wrath, is the modern collections tab to store all your toys and mounts and pets in and the all important (in Wrath) Heirlooms.
So what’s one thing that you wish TBC had from Retail?
There is one, and only one quality of life change that I would like to see brought from retail into classic: The ability to transmog. Because lets be honest, some tier sets are just flat out ugly, and our adventurers more often than not look ridiculous in mixed-matched gear while questing.
Not just some tier sets, but sometimes sets you need to use like Frost Resist gear etc. My hope in Wrath is they will give use the modern Collections tab and have transmog.
Because Wrath is known for is achivements and collections, and boy are there alot of toys, mounts, transmog, heirlooms to collect.
I am going to respectfully but firmly disagree here. The appeal for many people playing classic right now, is that it isn’t retail. Adding all these changes that you mentioned would just turn the game into retail.
Dual spec and either connected realms or LFD. Classic/crusade really need these to survive long term. Blizzard did connect classic realms but it was too little, too late. Crusade will probably have the same fate. Blizzard will wait until after 99% of players have moved on THEN put it it. That’s like trying to board up the holes on a ship after it’s already at the bottom of the sea.
It’s…not going to be much better in WotLK Classic. The original had a palette of dark blue, dark brown, dark gray, blue, brown, grey and copper. Because, you know, Vikings! Never mind the fact they wore checkered pants and green, yellow, and red.
((With a client update that allows players to turn off seeing it. Much like how you can disable the Death Knight voice modulation. This is NOT like the Hide Helm/Hide Cloak, which tells other clients to display you with those items. DK Voice Modulation settings only affect your client.))
…I have more: New models (client-side optional like they were originally), LFD/LFR (but limit it to the server unless that faction is woefully small…like on Pagle, where’s there’s maybe 9 lvl 70 Horde), New spell/ability animations (client-side optional)…
((You’ll notice that while I want the new shinnies, I also want players to have a choice to not see them; LFD/LFR just makes sense. We have 5 or so addons that duplicate its functionality, and most-everyone is using at least one of them to get groups.))
I hope they give us in Wrath the updated barbershop so we can change alot more like skin color, faces, heck even snip snip for gender change because why not.
