I consider myself a decent pvper. A good “all around” Retribution Paladin, who knows what he’s doing most of the time. I love PVP, don’t know why, always have.
But lately, I find myself more and more frustrated and often at times thinking about quiting the game altogether. I went 1-10 in regular BG’s a few hours ago, just to give you an example. What is it with the Alliance? The constant moaning and complaining, the toxicity amongst fellow players. Meanwhile, the Horde keeps on steamrolling us almost every time. They stick together, they attack the enemy healers, they use strategy in REGULAR BG’s.
I mean this is practically a joke now, even Blizzard was memeing on it not too long ago…anyway. Thx for sharing.
Just finished doing some bg’s as a healer no less, it was brutal most of the time. Then i look at the alliance chars, they’re either new alts or hardly play the game as they’re sitting under ilev350 meanwhile more than half the horde team is pushing 390-400. Seems there is so few alliance queuing for bg’s that its scraping the bottom of the barrel for just anyone to fill a queue.
Not even mad really, it just sucks getting completely steamrolled just about every game even if your team tries to get some semblance of teamwork done.
Majority of bg’s i did i was either the only healer or 1 out of 2. Horde always had at least 2 healers usually 3+.
Imo Blizzard let the factions get so far out of balance that i don’t see any way of fixing it besides combining them all for random pvp queues.
My experience lately is whatever faction I’m on in BGs goes 4/10. So if I’m on Alliance, Horde seems hot and wins most games. But then when I’m Horde, Alliance seems hot and wins most games.
I hear the same complaints on both sides. [Insert opposite faction] knows how to focus healers and play objectives, and not fight mid/on the road/away from the flag.
I see toxic players on both sides. So in my experience, I don’t know if it’s a faction thing more than a random thing.
As a funny sidenote, last night on alliance in a Battle for Gilneas bg, had a guy complaining the entire match about how ally sucks and deserve to lose and we were winning virtually the entire match, except for when we briefly lost LH.
We never lost WW, and even killed the healers he kept complaining we didn’t know how to kill. We won the bg, yet this guy was complaining the entire match.
Some people just like to b!t%h and moan as a way of life. And that is definitely on both sides.
It’s a time zone thing. At certain times one side is better then the other. I log in to do PVP the same time each day, win 75% of my matches and then like clockwork it suddenly changes and I get crushing defeat after defeat. That’s when I stop Queing for the day.
The Alliance loses one fight at the beginning and 9/10 they give up. (mid in IOC for example) The Horde tends to fight even when they are losing, until later in the day when a lower caliber players get on and they are trash and QQ the whole time.
Alliance BG performance isn’t nearly as abysmal and forum whiners make it out to be, though it does seem like players with a defeatist mentality are more numerous in Alliance pug groups.
This is absolutely true. It really does seem like the system struggles to fill Alliance bgs at times, it seems to try to fill Alliance bgs with whatever it can find… fresh 120s, Horde mercs, undergeared alts, backfillers, etc.
Of course it doesn’t help that the AFK-out/ragequit rate is noticeably higher on Alliance side as well… which only exacerbates the issue.
About 50% of the time when I join an Alliance AV it’s a losing/in-progress game, which is quite telling. It’s rare for me to get dropped into a losing Horde AV, on the other hand.
The very high Alliance ragequit rates + a smaller % of Alliance players q’ing for bgs in the first place is a recipe for bg imbalance.
Take it from someone who rage quit Alliance and went to Horde after a hot streak of losing BGs: the grass isn’t greener on the horde side.
I’ve been winning a lot of my Alliance BGs as of late. BG week is terrible though. I lost most of my games and it took a long time to finish the weekly quest.
I call out healers during the game. Call INCs also helps. Will it work every time? No. People can still tunnel vision and that’s very frustrating.
Gotta join a pvp community and queue with its members. Believe it or not there are a lot of battlegrounds thought to be pug vs pug but are in fact at least 5 man premades vs pugs.
I was aware of communities but I didn’t know how many premades actually went on until I joined a few communities myself.
After joining a community my win rate went up drastically. I didn’t play any different just grouped with more like minded players.
The posts around these forums about AlliANCe LoSEs ALL BGs are a meme btw. Factions are pretty balanced, and even somewhat towards Ally side.
Been Ally on my Monk since making it in MoP (Scroll down for wins/losses. Can confirm the stats on actual Statistics screens ingame. Except Seething Shore wth is up with that?)
It’s most likely because you’re playing a different, low-level bracket and horde probably has more twinks than Ally.
I have found Ally side to be very time sensitive. If you do not hit that sweet time spot expect to lose. You can usually tell because most of the people on the team have very low ilvl.
Now just because your team has low ilvl doesn’t mean it’s an automatic loss, but a loss seems to happen more this way.
Also since I play toons on both sides, it’s more frustrating losing on the horde side because I had to wait around 10 minutes just to get in.
