What is going on with ticket times?

I got the overturned email. You are an absolute legend Orlyia, thank you so much!

You are welcome, Sunboof - I really didn’t do anything but ask some questions :stuck_out_tongue:

Its more than I was able to do after I was given the directive to not appeal anymore. I really do appreciate you hearing me out!

These are usually pretty cut and dry.

The gold did come to you, the fact you hadn’t taken it from the mail and were still actioned is the bug (that they think they’ve fixed), which I actually just found out about.

That is the best defense against this, don’t pull the suspicious mail, return to sender if possible - and document it in a ticket if nothing else.

Where it was overturned you can request (if you haven’t already) for the lost sub time to be credited towards you account for the amount of time you were suspended.

Glad it worked out

I have a few guildies that are in the same boat as me. If this bug has been fixed, will their suspensions be overturned automatically or how should they proceed?

I’m curious how a bug leads to someone being suspended. Isn’t that decision made by a human and not automated?

It is, Zaalg. This was more in process.

They should appeal, Sunboof. They can reference this thread if they like.

I know this isn’t the place to make suggestions, but I hope there are some mail safety features being considered like a confirmation prompt when opening mail from non-friends/non-guildies. It can be easy to miss a single mail among the 4+ pages of AH mail you get especially if you just auto open all the mail, and not everyone is aware of the risks of accepting gold from unknown senders. They might just think it’s a free gift from someone they helped or something and this would help protect everyone.

Took me 5 days to get a nonsense bot response to my ticket. They marked my ticket as solved too.

If a GM is done with a ticket, yes - it’s marked resolved, Jada.

Yours was for non-participation. Totally different category and action.

Sounds weird, if it’s a bot why did they took 5 days to get to you? Ergo, it’s just a human using an approved template to answer you and not a bot by your own observation.

Firstly:

The other: Folks already basically ignroe/get up in arms about the number of ‘are you sure’ message, then still get upset when they didn’t check that the armor/weapon/item they wanted was the right one. There’s so much Blizzard can do before they have to stop on their end.

Oh yes, people love to ignore prompts all the time. Trust me I know. But I also know that those prompts really do help a lot more than you’d think, based on my own experiences in unrelated gaming projects.
I will make a suggestion there later.

I think there is an addon that does this, but I don’t recall the name off the top of my head. Anyone else happen to know?

Postal is a mail addon. It has setting for choosing which types of mail to auto-open.

Do we really need to take all these extra precautions just to not get suspended/banned?

Sadly, yes, because the problem has gotten so bad that gold buying has become “accepted” by a very vocal (but hopefully still minority) of the player base, hence leading to more people getting suspended for buying gold, or in this case actually weaponizing gold buying to try to get other people suspended.

If there was nobody buying gold, there’d be no gold sellers and a lot of this wouldn’t be necessary. Some of us want harsher penalties for people who buy gold but unfortunately as we have seen sometimes innocent people get caught up in a ban too.
