Reading is difficult, but comprehension escapes you entirely
Number 1 solo ret in na do you stream?
Lmao. He seems to be much better than that angry rogue.
This thread demonstrates why static ratings are a problem and have always been so. Players develop a perception based on previous seasons for what is āaverageā or āabove averageā. Due to inflation/deflation and all the factors that influence it though, that perception can be WAYYYYY off. Regardless, the reward structure is still tied to static ratings.
According to drustvar:
2100 in 2v2 puts you in the top #350 (or so) players in the US. I would estimate thatās WELL within the top 1%.
2100 in 3v3 puts you in the top #1,913 players in the US. This puts you within the top 1.65%.
2100 in RSS is obviously dependent on class, but I will select something that has a lot of activity/highest rated players. In this case, bm hunter. 2100 for BM hunter puts you at #665 on the ladder and within the top 13.5% for all BM hunters in RSS.
Meanwhile, 2100 in RSS for Rdruid puts you at #100 on the ladder and approximately within the top 1.7% of all Rdruids in RSS.
For Blitz, again obviously dependent on class. But for BM hunter for example, 2100 puts you at #90 on the ladder, and within the top 3% for all BM hunters in blitz.
2100 in Blitz for Rdruid puts you at #55 on the ladder, and within the top 2% of all Rdruids in blitz.
As you can see, 2100 is anything but average, and in some cases (depending on bracket) requires you to be an absolute top end player. Blizzard needs to go back to everything being percentage based.
The best Lolcow was this guy named Bruin who played to the point where his family divorced him but couldnāt get over 1750
He would regularly go into other class discords and flame them too
uh oh Kennie is NOT gonna like this
They announced 2 weeks til end of season?
No?
So weāre using anecdotal evidence to support our claims about rating barriers?
Arena Forums in a nut shell, really.
You have a good mog
i mean the season is winding down so maybe
Season just started
I donāt stream, and Iām not even sure why Iām at the top, I swear Iām so bad lol. I think itās cause the good rets havenāt queued much shuffle yet this season.
Volume of games required to establish CR somewhat discouraging considering queue length.
Tyvm.
(I know this wasnāt literally directed at me, but I feel it in my bones. All my mogs are great)
Wasnāt that that warlock player on the forums here??
Yo can we not ignore this guy. Only opinion backed by actual data that matters in this thread.
In before ā2400 is below averageā
Itās a vintage Dozer meme, sir.
Is it friend. Ive been around these parts long enough to know alot of nerds here like to circle jerk sround that idea.
Yes. He didnāt get gladiator once because he didnāt finish wins and has now memed it into hyperbole because heās still upset.
Also has some weird vendetta towards covlol about it. Not sure on the details, I wasnāt there.
At the end of the day, thereās no such thing as a āfree gladā despite how many lifetime 1800 players seem to spout about it. If you want to climb, you gotta work at it, and the first step towards doing that is learning from your mistakes, which requires yoy to recognize and admit you made a mistake, which most forumgoers are notoriously bad at.
Facts.
I would also add that one of the hardest parts about getting a title is finding 2 other people to play 3s with.
That first step is probably holding back the majority of forum dwellers that are awful, refuse to believe it and have terrible personalities.
Thanks man. The arena community and forums are filled with elitists that have been playing forever and at a time where 2100 was considered āaverageā by the masses (Even then though, 2100 was literally NEVER average). They havenāt kept up with the current stats and metrics though, and so often have no idea what theyāre talking about.
That, or theyāre so out of touch that they actually consider being a top 1-3% player āaverageā.
I would actually argue the community holds a lot of people back.
For the first time since Legion an IRL friend and I decided to get into arena again and we picked up a random third. First day was great we played a handful of games and got up to 1600ish. Next day we log on and none of us are really playing well and suddenly the random we picked up is āI understand if you want to grab someone else.ā
Both my irl friend and I are like āwtf man we are a new group, we are all learning where did this come from?ā Apparently he had other groups just crap all over him and split up as soon as any amount of adversity was encountered. Legit how do you plan to climb if you are unwilling to make mistakes, IE lose, then learn why and get better?
People crapping on each other and not being willing to learn from their mistakes is the biggest reason you wonāt climb.
