What is Blizzard doing to the Titans!?

In the Thor comics, in particular during the Jane Foster Thor cycle, Odin doubles own on his tyranny even to the point of imprisoning his wife Frigga when she speaks out against his harsher measures in his yielding to the return of Bor.

I’m more of an Azeroth guy myself

history is written by the victor.
black empire was powerful and prosperous. titans created stone races and conquered the world with them. real flesh is given by the old gods.

Blizzard had to backpeddle and put down odynchads but we know the truth

Out of curiosity, what truth would that be?

I dont know

Fair fair :raccoon:

It goes back to the old alignment wheels. Lawful (aka Order) /= good. In fact it can very easily be tyrannical.

To be fair Odyn was right about uplifting the aspects as they only brought more harm to Azeroth. From Deathwing to Murzond who we are still going to be dealing with they all end up crazy or corrupted doing alot of damage and then need putting down.

If blizzard was intent on making Odyn the bad guy, then they shouldn’t have done such a good job of making him right in most of these situations. Even Helya Initially agreed with him about everything it was only the making her the First Valkyr she got pissy about and even that only went badly because of the Jailers involvement.

Come on. Titans are the main agents of Order in the Cosmos, and Order has been known to be an authoritarian cosmic force for quite some time now. Nobody should be surprised at the Titans turning out to have hidden tyrannical tendencies. It’s not even only about Odyn.

Many of us have been pointing this out for a while. Good to see that this is officially the direction the lore’s taking.

The titans have and were always portrayed as morally ambiguous from Vanilla all the way to Wrath and beyond, they would nuke billons of lives on planets across the cosmos, (re-origination) They were known to look down upon the concept of free will, created armies of stone servants with little to no free will of their own, they would imprison or destroy anyone or anything that didn’t fit their ideals or posed a threat to their order, they would experiment on local flora and fauna, would do literally anything to maintain order. This has always been the case… And I think part of that is what makes the titans interesting, that they aren’t these smiling happy “lets all hug” benevolent gods… Heck most gods in most polytheistic religions irl were massive jerk bags too!

But now all of a sudden people are freaking out because the titans -reads notes- put magic in water to make giant murder lizards more tame and follow their orders.

I’m tellin’ ya now, this is all leading to Babylon 5. We’re going to get that speech telling all the cosmic forces to go take a hike because we don’t need them and they’re not helping.

Sounds very much like Marvel’s Celestials They would make three visits to a world where they uplift races check on them and on the fourth visit they would invariably find those races wanting and destroy them.

Time for some Kirby goodness…

Babylon 5’s Villains are the First Ones(namely the Shadows and Vorlons) so we will probably be fighting the First Ones in WoW as well.

I’ve been saying that the Naaru are the Vorluun for years now.

The real reason why Blizzard created the First Ones was to get rid of the Titans and to burn them on the altar of raid content. Now the First Ones will act as the new Uber Titans.

The way you’ve been misspelling Vorlon, no wonder no one has paid attention.

This is very well put, personally, I don’t like morally grey, even if it is done well so I REALLY don’t like it when its done bad.

I am so over EVERY cosmic power/being being evil. Like, really? The entire universe and nothing is somewhat sane?
