If anybody says otherwise they are wrong, because they are tired of hearing it.
Andys often obsess over particular parts of a video game medium and cannot be reasoned with about it, because they are too far gone. It’s often used to describe video game tribalism. For example, Classic Andys obsess over Classic, and will refuse to listen to any reasoning or criticisms about Classic.
It is short hand for Andrew

It’s a meme from the early days of Twitch which sort of evolved into gaming slang.
It’s just a way to label someone.
e.g. a Classic Andy is someone that always drones on about Classic WoW.

no? There are a thousand definitions of Andy on that site. An Andy is literally the video game equivalent of a Stan.

it’s sort of like a stan but yeah they’re someone that only like that thing. it’s twitch slang coming from the comedian Andy Milonakis back in the day.

you can apply it to anything. a Pokemon Gen1 andy would be someone who only likes Gen1 red/blue pokemon games and doesn’t like the other ones.
someone who believes only mustard belongs on bratwursts would be a mustard andy.
