What is actually happening with priests

I’m just here waiting till they finally split up shadow into two specs (void and shadow). Make Shadow spec a combination of WoD/MoP and maybe a bit of Cata. Void spec can be primarily legion/bfa nonsense with some SL sprinkled in.

PI becomes heroism/lust
Silence and Mind Bomb (aoe stun) in the spec tree.
psychic horror talent in void/shadow tree (turns mind bomb into single target, longer duration with disarm effect after).

Only if we can get surrender to madness back. That was such a stupid talent. I loved every second of it.

I mean I can answer that for you. There is no one at Blizzard that looks at Priest, plays Priest, or even slightly cares about Priest.

The end. Question answered.

Edit: Oh yeah and no brez or lust for the healer specs as well, so nothing mandatory there.

Despite being the only class in the game with 2 healing specs. The original healing class. The epitome of lore and theme to what should be a healer. Doesn’t have a battle rez.

It truly is comical.

PWS was supposed to help us with scream, but PWS absorbs nothing this expansion, except maybe 1 attack.

Yup. Ignore the dumbasses and move on. Like has been said multiple times already, these are aspects of basic mechanical function within the current design of the game.

There is no objective argument anyone can make as to why theyre either inadequate or missing from the priest class, so why it hasnt been changed in all this time is baffling.

These pricks that show up trying to sound preachy and extra-knowledgeable are trolls and nothing more. Fighting against reality and critique doesnt make you more mature or “the better man.” It makes you a complete fool and a detriment to your own community.

You are free to stew in your rage and dissatisfaction. Attacking others because they aren’t mad enough for you, or mad in the right ways, is weird.

Good luck. Enjoy the ignore list.

This exactly.

And they’re just the most cringe people. “Actually my guild.”
“Actually, priest has.”
“Actually it’s not that bad because…”

It is. It is that bad. I’ve never seen a single valid point from these self-hating priests that are actually content (well, allegedly, probably just a devil’s advocate response) having their class be the only one stuck in 2008.

It’s actually a form of delusion. To be so okay with your own class being so many steps behind.

“I can do all the content I want just fine on my priest.” And then you go to their profile and they’re like 30 ilevel below average, and their “content” is like pet battles and T1 delves.

Like the brandy guy was trying to tell me priest “has all these things.” Seemingly unironically actually trying to make a case that they have a slow because mind flay slows. Or they have mobility because feather. The “well technically” crowd is just wild. Actively just being okay with their class being 5 steps behind because they can clear raid finder just fine.

Actual morons.

The root works fairly well now and it’s an AoE cc.

It’s not a stop though, which is what matters in keys.

Did they fix void tendrils somehow? It’s been kind of a useless mess for ages.

It was better than a root it reduced the targets movement speed to 0. They could do nothing to move when it landed.

I think they just upped the damage you do to a target before they break. They don’t last the full duration but they work fine if you’re doing solo content. They die fast if the mobs attack them but that doesn’t happen often.

I mean, that’s always been the problem though. If they’re not even going to hold up to say M0 content the talent is useless.

They need to work more like they did back in MoP where they only broke when directly targeted.

The need the same HP as frost wall.

Frostwall, Earthgrab is another example - where fine, if they’re fragile (and I’m pretty sure Earthgrab is like 400% more durable) then even if they break they still turn into a slow.

They know how to do roots right in the game - heck even raid bosses are getting roots by the dozen now it seems - but like other priest talents they’ve been imported from older designs and left in a fairly dysfunctional form.

I don’t understand why our root has to have a destructible element at all. An AoE root exists already with frost nova. Just give us that and let it look like tentacles instead.

The give and take that Blizz seems to hold to isn’t always necessary.

Careful now, when you start asking questions like, “Why do we have to be limited this way?” that’s the road to the dark side (and switching mains, like I’ve very, very reluctantly decided to do myself, kicking my priest to the bottom of my healing roster - a combination of nostalgia and sunk cost fallacy keeps a lot of us here).

Until there’s a really good reason “why it has to be this way” to a LOT fewer design issues, our best answer probably is to look elsewhere for fun.

The issue is you can’t bench disc in progression. No other healer can do what disc does, IE mass heal the entire raid on a 1.5 minute CD.

This is what I am refering to when I talk about disc being a glorified raid CD instead of a full spec. Instead of being a strong healer on its own so much of its power budget is in its ramp and Evangalism window allowing it to do what no one else can, full heal the raid quickly on a relatively short CD.

Most times disc will be able to handle every other big raid blast which say a hily priest would need to use Salvation for the first and then wouldn’t be abke to cover the next 3-4 blasts while disc could cover the 1st and 3rd hits, hence why yoi can’t bench it.

The irony is disc filled a similar roll back when it was a shield bot which was supposedly bad because it made the spec irreplacable and steps on the toes of other healers. Disc still doing that to this day and blizz still doesn’t know how to fix it.

I feel as if it’s more along the lines of, humans evolved a slightly more coherent brain. But we could have then just stopped and been like “Yep that’s good enough.” But we didn’t, we continued to make things better as our environments and situations changed and it required us to do so.

The game’s evolved since it’s inception but Priest hasn’t. What they have access to was fine a decade again. It’s not cutting it now.
