Here come all the sweats that are up in arms at even the possibility that their ability to dunk on fresh/noobs going bye bye because they grinded out gear faster and better than others.
My current ilvl on this toon is 225. I think an ilvl cap in random BGs is a good idea, personally. In rated? Sure I want whatever edge I’ve worked to earn, but I think putting people who only do unrated PVP at a massive disadvantage is pretty lame.
this is an amazing idea.
Why would you sweaties @ 2100+ care? ur not in random bgs ur playing rated bgs or arenas. Go grind that realm. I wanna have fun too in a fair match @ 197
What is with people thinking everyone agrees with them, news flash, they don’t.
People like gearing up and feeling stronger, why would you take away one of the biggest draws for people?
There would literally be no reason for people to gear up if they only play PvP in this game, how anyone can think this is a good idea and that ‘everyone’ would have fun is laughable.
RPGs like WoW are about building up your character and gaining power by playing the game. A necessary part of this is that those who have done elite content are stronger than those who just hit max level.
For me, capping the ilvl on my gear would feel weird. My character would be one way inside a random BG, and another way everywhere else.
Not a fan of that, but I would like to see some separation between higher and lower ilvl characters.
It sucks being 197 ilvl going against 220 ilvl 1800+ rated players in random bgs.
It also sucks being a 220 ilvl 1800+ rated player getting teamed up with 197 ilvl players when you need to farm honor to upgrade gear
It might be fun for low-geared players to have gear ilevel cap at 197.
But the higher-geared players who have their ilevel drop would probably have much much less fun. They would feel all their efforts to build their characters past 197 are pointless.
I still feel like people who earned their 220+ gear will still be more skilled than a player who pvp for fun occasionally. Instead of losing 99 time out of 100, the casual player would now lose maybe 60 time out of 100 ?
