That’s sad to think about lol
yeah but how is the CEO going to get his $200 million bonus if we start doing that? Come on Vhalkorr think it through. *sarcastic scoff
They and their streamers promised this expansion was going to be better than the previous and it’s more of the same. I wouldn’t trust them at this point to release improved content regardless of price.
Lol sorry i forgot about our priorities
Pay more to grind? yea no thanks!
If they raise the sub fee by even 1 dollar I’m quitting and never returning.
The sub price has always been for continuing content.
But since 8.3 we haven’t got anything other than the base expansion which we had to pay for.
The subscription has been $14.99 for one month since 2004.
You can doubt all you want, but your doubts are quashed by readily available facts…
What if Bobby Kotick, instead of getting a $200m bonus, got a $100m bonus, and an extra 100m dollars was put into the development of current ActiBlizz games.
Will you support that?
no because they can do it now, but choose not to.
Look at common complaints, address them and move on.
They cant even do that… they literally, can’t, even do that.
The sub price isn’t going to new content beyond the rehash you get every expansion (which costs extra). Let’s say they have 2 million subscribers, which is around $360 million a year. You’d think that for that amount they’d be able to create an amazing game with all of the staff they have working there.
But nope, games like American Truck Simulator have 1/10th the staff and probably much less revenue and that game is way better than WOW in terms of story, graphics, gameplay, etc. Just all around a much better game that has you wanting to come back, whereas WOW has systems designed to force you to come back if you want to progress.
BLIZ should have put some of that subscription money aside and invested in creating a new game because WOW is just obsolete at this point.
They have proven the more money they make has absolutely nothing to do with the quality/lack of it, that they put out. The more money they make the more goes to their CEO, while workers get laid off and the ones they keep are incapable of putting out content worth playing.
I’d pay more for better content.
Will you support that?
Yes.
BUT I’d need hard evidence and a roadmap of sorts, revealing and listing scheduled updates throughout the dev time. Otherwise I’m not handing in my money.
I will not blindly pay for a product I know very little about. cough cough Overwatch 2 cough cough
I am in no mean encouraging increased subs. I just wonder what you guys think about it.
I think a lot of players, or at least I hope. With the increase sub price for many other countries are kind of ready for the sub price to increase, but it needs to happen at a point where the playbase is “happy”
Whether that be during TBC Classic launch or 9.1, with major changes to Shadowlands and majority of it’s systems.
What if Blizzard increased sub price and was able to push for better content like previous expansions
Not going to happen. Any increase in sub fee is going to go to extra profit. It will have no influence on content.
Meh … idk about this. The problem is that there are so many disagreements and what makes the game better. So my xtra money might not go into anything I want to see happen. So I’d have to say no. I would not pay more on the basis that they would “improve” the game.
If Blizzard increased the sub cost and closed the cash shop and made a quality MMORPG again, I’d play that.
Depends on the content.
I’d pay more if the content was world’s better, sure. But if they, say, doubled the price and the content was trash, I’d probably quit like anyone else.
What expansion had better content?
Everything was raid or die before Legion, and then Legion and BFA were World of Chores.
It isn’t as simple as “just make better content bro.”
I mean . . .you can’t charge more for crap. You have to make something really good and then raise the price in increments. People still won’t like it but they generally complain but stay OR leave in a huff and then come back (see Netflix).
You have to make a good, fun game FIRST. And you have to release new content often enough so that people just stay subscribed. Netflix is such a good example. Sure, people subscribe and then unsubscribe, but whenever I unsub it’s like two weeks and something cool comes out. Might as well stay subscribed, which I largely do.
And often their best shows are SO good that I feel like one series is worth a couple months subscription. Blizzard’s best now is, to me, barely adequate. It isn’t “The Crown” or “Stranger Things,” it’s reruns of a network crime show. To a LOT of players, that isn’t good enough.
I would have paid $20 a month to play MoP or even Cata (minus the content droughts). But it has been all downhill from there. More crappy content wouldn’t help, and Blizzard seems unable to make a great game anymore.
