Why don’t the buddy who got a 200 million bonus put a little back into making the games fun.
lolwut?
lolwut?
They can dip into their record profits to improve their content.
It’s called Shadowlands. It is already here. You just dont appreciate it.
Less grind - Just need the Daily Callings, few Torghast runs like 1 legendary for months.
Dungeons - arguably harder than BFA … more challenging and that is good
Bigger zones - Revendreth is a big zone full of goodies. Maldraxxus and Ardeanweald is okay. Maw is arguably awesome. These are big zones where you dont faceroll its mobs. I love it.
New talents… Got my Killshot back. New abilities are on Covenants… mine is WIld Spirits which is good on AoE and Soulshape that gives me added mobility to go away from harm. Then there are Souldbinds with Conduits. I could go for Soulbind/conduits that allow me prevent death, soulbind/conduit that gives me overpowered AoE abilities or soulbind/conduit that makes me decent on Single Target DPS… it’s customizable.
PvP/Arena - sorry I dont PvP anymore becoz I am just Casual. Casual means I would be at the bottom of the food chain. Nope, I dont want to become free honor kill.
More patches… it would come.
Shadowlands is refreshing after playing BFA for like 2 years.
We are on 9.0. There will be 10.0. We have new WoW like every 2 years. So far I love it. And I am having a Blast.
No.
Blizzards already made it clear they have very little interest in supporting WoW at this point.
They basically havei t on lifesupport, and are barely giving it the attention / funding it deserves.
Giving them more money will not fix WoW. They will just take that money and funnel it into other projects while laughing away.
The “Business” side has completely taken over on wow’s end, there might be some creatives still on the team, but they are overshadowed heavily by the buisness arm, so at this point, there is no point.
I would absolutely support an increase in the subscription price.
Just adjusting for inflation from 2005 levels, the monthly fee SHOULD be closer to $20.
If it’s true. I mean Blizzard can increase the sub price and still just provide the same ole, same ole game. It’s already happening outside of US with Australia and Canada.
They would just put it into other projects like they do with all the money Wow makes.
I don’t think the problems with the current design philosophy can be resolved by throwing more money at them.
You are correct for the most part.
The only change to sub fee has been in relation to other currencies and exchange rates. The US sub fee (at least) has been the same since the game released.
It already costs more than the content it provides
That’s just kicking the can down the road.
We pay $15/month to get $5 content. If we paid $25/month, we’d get $10 content and it’d feel the same.
Profits aren’t the problem. CEOs are.
Will you support that?
Blizzard makes more money than any other game per month and have for over 16 years off of this game.
Other gaming studios would die for an audience that is willing to pay 15$ per month, every month as a sub.
Money is not the issue, corporate greed is.
Tossing more money at the game isn’t going to fix mindset issues.
The exact same amount of people can make content that isn’t just crappy e-sports bait.
We don’t need more new talents.
We don’t need new arenas.
We have enough dungeons and raids because that’s all we’re getting anyways.
We need evergreen and RPG content.
They just refuse to focus on it because muh awc and mdi and wfc.
If they want more money from me, they can put expanded customization and player housing in and maybe trickle some stuff onto the shop. I ain’t paying more money per month to pay a game that lacks features F2P games have. And frankly, it’s getting to the point I don’t want to be paying at all because F2P games have more content that’s not chasing FOMO crap.
They should be able to deliver that as of now. They have millions of players paying box price and then $15 a month to play this game, which the more you actually think about that sounds insane. I imagine they’re making a decent amount on token sales as well.
The problem is the profit made from WoW is being reinvested into mobile titles in development. We could give blizz $30 a month and it still wouldn’t change the current quality of the WoW experience.
The game is already not worth the sub fee they have now… How about fix the current content and keep the sub fee the same. We can “circle back” when that happens…
better content
like they can
Will you support that?
And by better content I mean;
Less grind systems that forces players to remain subscribed
More dungeons/raids
More and bigger areas/zones etc
More new talents
More PVP BG/Arena
More patchesSo on…
Please note this is only hypothetical question. I am in no mean encouraging increased subs. I just wonder what you guys think about it.
NO.
That isn’t the way the current CEO operates and I would ask you to refrain from making further suggestions like this. All that’s going to happen is the community is going to SHRINK even further
All that will happen is more money will be funneled to the CEO, your still going to get the content you have now or even less.
Why? Soon as the price increases people that have been subscribing but very unhappy with Warcraft will pull the RIPCORD and up and unsubscribe and then we’ll have even less people in the community.
The problem is the profit made from WoW
Actually Candy Crush is funding Warcraft and has been for the past couple of years. Warcraft is NOT the money maker it was.
/#Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.
Na, they barely do anything now and look how much we pay lmao.
You’re assuming that lack of funding is the reason this game’s design has deteriorated. It’s not. The company has revenue targets, and this game is hitting them with the content it’s putting out. If they ever missed those, they would look at the reasons players cited for leaving, and attempt to address those. Barring that, they’re going to stay the current course regardless of what the sub fees are. If anything, increasing sub prices could give them more justification for staying the course by boosting revenues. That is, unless more players left. Either way, I think we would lose out.
