If I could redesign this expansion, I would make the main plot the Old Gods & Queen Azshara with the Naga. Kul Tiras and Zandalar would still be the main hubs and their fleets would still be relevant to fight the forces. There could still be some conflict or ocean battles between the Alliance and Horde navies but the main thread would be the Naga and the Old God forces. I think that expansion would have turned out a lot better.
The Scarlet Crusade cleared the smog, moved in, planted their flags; grasping the black plants - and with them, painting the roses red.
Benedikt keeps me sane as a Forsaken player at heart.
Though even with all of that, there is a reason why Iâm maining a tauren shaman.
If weâre going to take the Anduin/Saurfang cinematic at face value, the Alliance at the very least was getting close to running out of trained soldiers to send to battle.
I was going to write a longer reply but Kitten is demanding attention.
As discussed with Mara and Dreadmoore above, I would not.
Down to the farmers, compadre.
Looks like those farmers pulled their weight to help defeat the Horde on all fronts.
It should probably be noted that they said âweâll be pulling up farmers nextâ.
That means this current wave is the last of their trained soldiers and that additional manpower will be getting pulled from the commoners.
That doesnât necessarily mean this current wave of fresh soldiers was less large in size than the previous waves or that the Allianceâs current military power was smaller than what the Horde was mustering at the time.
The Warfronts werenât won before the Horde unseated Sylvanas. The Horde just left.
This does not seem to be the case, as the Warfronts appear to have been over after the Battle of Dazarâalor, which was before the Horde rebelled over Baineâs arrest.
False. Darkshore doesnât end until 8.3
Gameplay is not reflective of lore. Most things indicate the Night Elves won Darkshore back after their first cycle, including Nathanos not holding the ground and instead having to head back for the battle for Dazarâalor, and Sira and Delaryn having abandoned Darkshore to appear at Tirisfal Glades in a Horde quest before Heroic Darkshore Warfront gameplay was even available.
You donât play any game for cutscenes. The victory cutscene was released in 8.3. Itâs been complete for a year. Blizzard chose to release the capstone cutscene for Darkshore now in 8.3 after the Horde agrees to an armistice.
Hence gameplay is not reflective of lore. This quest canonically probably takes place before the Battle of Dazarâalor, regardless of whenever it was unlocked for playability.
It does not. Your evidence is paltry â stating that because Nathanos left, for his three lines â that he could not return. That he must be there or the Horde cannot fight.
Thatâs asinine.
Blizzard released the cutscene in 8.3. It is the capstone to Darkshoreâs story, which ended in 8.3. Your nelf fanboyism will not change that fact.
More to the point, the timing of the Lost Honor cinematic feels incredibly cheap.
As I recall, it was not released until much closer to 8.1 - or even during 8.1 itself, by which point the players already know that the Alliance turns their situation around. So telling them âoh, you WERE weak then, but weâll just ignore any period of time in which that might be reflected in the story and skip ahead to where youâre winning.â
Put another way, Blizzard sprinkles their storytelling with gross exaggerations to make it feel more dramatic. âWeâll be calling farmers up nextâ falls into this category, because itâs said to give the feeling of being in a dire situation, when by the time of the cinematicâs release the dire situation has already passed and the Alliance is already winning.
Sports fan boards are less petty than this forum. Lmao.
I know youâre not playing on Treng much, but Horde questing already showed the Undead Night Elves, who were leading the Horde at Darkshore, already having abandoned Darkshore and were now on an entirely different continent before the Heroic Darkshore Warfront was available.
Actually, on that point:
Nathanos abandoned the Horde and left with Sylvanas before the armistice. And since heâs in the Heroic Darkshore Warfront for the Horde, thatâs just more emphasis that itâs all just gameplay, not lore.
You can cling to the desperation of the idea of the Horde not being beaten by farmers all you want, but the Horde lost on all fronts after Dazarâalor, and then didnât do anything against the Alliance after Azsharaâs defeat.
Question, Amadis, and try to be honest here:
Do you think that the Horde and Alliance soldiers repeat the same scripts every time the night elves/gilneans and night elves/goblins fight?
Cause i mean, you said it yourself:
Youâve â until now at least â stated that Nathanos MUST be present and MUST say his lines for the Horde to fight. Youâre comparing the Gameplay of the Warfront to the capstone lore cutscene where the night elves finally â after three patches â win.
I do not. Hence there is only one round of each, the Horde Darkshore Warfront goes first, then the Alliance Darkshore Warfront after, and thatâs it. Thereâs no actual further rounds. The cycling of the Darkshore Warfront is just gameplay, not lore. Heroic Warfronts are even more so only gameplay and not lore.
