No, the next question would be “Okay, so what is it that you take issue with in this patch that doesn’t directly correlate with the goblin theme?”
If you can’t answer that without alluding to the very expressly defined goblin themes, then it’s about the goblins, whether you care to admit it or not.

Theres not much conversation with someone that genuine believe Shadowlands tanked by gameplay features alone and not the story, despite everywhere you looked you saw people complaining about story.

WoW players will literally find anything to argue over. Its okay that people like lighter themes, and its okay people like darker themes. I don’t know why some of you have to beat your chests that your flavor of ice cream is better than others when we all like ice cream.

There’s not much conversation with people who think SL tanked because of the story alone and trying to pass it off as universal fact when they don’t have the data to draw causation. Was it a factor? Yes. Was it the cause? You don’t have the data.

They could have done much more with the visuals and the story boarding.

I could just go hunting this very forum about SL threads about it, but while I do have enough free time to give a quick respomse or two, I dont have time to give you a research article.
One which I could also use as argument for your point, but we kmow both of us will not go hunting for data.
Maybe they are upset that they haven’t gotten a dig through animal droppings quest yet that was tied to the main quests like they used to be in the past.

If they did, they wouldn’t be goblins as goblins have been interpreted throughout the entirety of WoW’s history. There’s always been an air of levity to the goblin theme.
So basically: It’s not goblins, but you want them to change everything that makes the goblins… goblins.
