What happened to Horde vs Alliance?

It’s how the horde was written though most of the history, starting in O&H. The orcs were always an enslaved army sent to do their master’s will. Escaping that bondage and searching for a new home is the whole story of the Horde.

Outside of that abomination that was Sylvannas.

Never should have let the scourge into the Horde anyway.

Horde ran out of leaders to kill

There should be 2 different encampments for each faction on Khaz Algar.

The Alliance should have a council if the Horde has one.

For me the problem reside in the asthetic desing, like everything is made for human male, most of the time everything look bad on other races, like for instance the plunder lord mog, on a human look good, on a forsaken not so much, Even on a kul tiran look weird.
I personally like the Female Orc model with better animations than belf or human

I don’t this is the problem and given that they cannot adjust every single transmog for each race, this is the best approach they have. However!

This does not excuses the sorry state the other races are in. For all the money Blizzard earns, they could surely spend some dimes on race-specific designs (Earthen are a good example of this) and developing the race fantasies better. The Forsaken have only two great designs for them: The BfA Warfront transmog sets and the heritage armor. Nothing else. Tauren have only have a few Druid transmogs and the Heritage armor/weapons. It isn’t this great either. Goblins have only the Heritage Armor and a FOMO set in rotation (Wastewanderer), which is accessible by every race.

They simply don’t do enough regarding this.

Kind of struck me how dry The Horde is on characters when they sent the goofy Time-Travel Steam Punk Mag’har, Overlord Geya’rah. A nothing character that’s seen 0 development since BFA.

The Alliance sent the Lord-Reagent of Stormwind, defacto supreme commander of the combined might of The Alliance, spouce of the expansion lead character, surviving Son of Lothar and owner of his own personal space ship complete with draenei space-marines.

The Horde needs building up again before we start fighting. Start by giving Geya’rah something to do other than taunt a man who can have her targeted by an orbital space laser.

No more faction war. No side can ever win and it’s a waste of developer time and costs.

Don’t worry, we will burn Stormwind soon enough after we get rid of the human boot licker Thrall! FOR THE HORDE!!

I have an even better and easier idea: just write something different for a change.

Thats why a different story would solve the issue.

There is no need for that.

I rather have five steps of development, written different, at least we get something instead of just “we are friends now” from the get to go

i miss it story wise but i don’t gameplay.
story is trash and i want more horde talk ig
we are crap now and are in desperate need of love please.

gameplay i just want ppl to play with their friends bc that’s more important but it didn’t need to b bcuz faction divided. we still can’t fully play with the other faction so it’s kinda dumb all around lol

can’t really say i do care for the faction conflict, tbh
you can only rehash red vs blue so many times before it’s just plainly obvious that the entire concept is worn out and contrived

Iron Horde showed that Orcs are naturally evil, no demon juice required. All it takes is minimal convincing for them to go on a genocidal rampage

I just don’t care anymore, Anytime its sparked again it’s because a leader (usually horde) has a joker moment, And was secretly planning to do this mass slaughter of civilians and then the Alliance retaliates etc.

At this point I’m more in it for the gameplay than the faction war anymore. I’d like to be able to queue into a dungeon not make a premade group but que into a random dungeon with either faction. It would speed up queues and would just be fun.

I absolutely prefer them working tother, both narratively and mechanically. As a player i want to be able to play any race/class i want and not have to feel restricted to whatever my friends are playing. I also think it makes sense in the story since we always end up working together anyway. Now we just aren’t lying to ourselves about the fact that we need each other for a better world.

I could add this to my previous post but meh, I know the title of the game is World of WARcraft before someone points that out unironically, But there can still be war just doesn’t mean it has to be between Horde and Alliance. Old gods, Lich King etc etc.

One thing is preffering to play in a certain way, which the setting by default don’t support it, so i dunno why you would go for it, but the faction conflict always made sense and it will always make sense

The peace is hanging by a thread, because surprise, the population, the kingdoms/clans/tribes and groups are not happy with how things are, and how the “peace” was achieved, even now elves and orcs fight in ashenvale because night elves did not forgave teldrassil, and the trolls did not accepted Rasthakan dead go unpunished.

And that is great, that is the kind of game wow is.

Thats extremely cute, but not realistic neither fun in a warcraft game. When we defeat the big fish, we always go for the smaller ones, meaning, no threats = we fight each other.

While I agree with you, we also face the problem with incompetent writers and stale story writing. If every second expansion needs some sort of team up, then we better go the Hearthstone and Legend of Korra route, where we’re united and face dangers together.

The war can still exist in warmode, where you can pick between three options: Factions-loyalty or renegade groups. This would open up so much potential as well.

That’s some remarkably inside-the-box thinking right there. Just because it happened twice once due to Metzen’s narcissism and second due to whatever the hell was happening during BfA that that is the only way it can happen? There’s tons of geopolitical landmines and unresolved grievances to lead to a faction conflict where no one “started it” and both sides have entirely legitimate grievances.
