What happened to Horde on MG?

I have been role-playing on moon guard for roughly 15 years, on Horde side, Petalgrace Softstep, my Taureness Hunter-now-paladin, and through it all I made a wonderful handful of friends, two of wvich have been long term, and while I am aware of the unspoken ‘exodus’ of most Horde RP has shifted to WRA, I never was told or made aware of the drama or the knowledge of what disolved the Hordes version of what the Alliance have (Akin to the Grand Alliance).

Ive heard rumors, allegations, assumptions but only that. It’d be nice to be able to put a name (or names) to understand why I dont hear about any large scale Horde events.

(Theres also a whole 'nother beast of a topic of the lack of monstrous racial rpers but thats for a different time)

We ate them.

What’s over here in this can OH NO WORMS, WORMS EVERYWHERE.

…anyway, as far as I can tell there was no singular event that “drove” everyone from MGH to WRAH. It was more of a slow, gradual shift over time where the big guilds on MG focused on guild RP and closed events that by its nature has a higher bar for an entry point, and WRA had more walkup opportunities.

As time has gone on, like the Little Mermaid, people have tended to consolidate where the other people are. So now you have a Stormwind on MG that creaks and groans any time an event ruffles the server hamsters, MGH coordination has largely moved to Discord and WRAH is also tapering. There’s still stuff going on on both servers, but it’s less than it was in the heyday as people concentrate more on the big city social experience for their day to days, and then as a result of that get pulled into more MGA focused-stuff on their MGA characters.

Long story short, a lot of people like to log in and have their characters walk around and have a social experience and meet people “live” in between the plot and event and guild stuff that they do, so they tend to gravitate towards the places that they can do that, and then once they’re there, those people that they initially formed casual social ties with are the ones that they want to build deeper story and events with.

For sure it’s not the only way to do RP, I’m sure the guilds and groups that are more insular have been able to do some really cool stuff with that kind of closed continuous continuity, but walkup RP offers a lot of random possibilities and low commitment for your evening that can also lead to more planned stuff in the future. It’s like win win win. So people who prefer that concentrate where they can do that.

The community isn’t as welcoming as it purports and drama follows whether it’s true or not. The stress of wanting to immerse in a game that is hostile on a socially OOC level is maddening. It is simply not worth it to deal with the OOC conformity that is required just for ridicule from A-side to follow shortly after.

We still have a Horde community:

Horde RP is still going on here on MG. It’s just different. If you want consistent walk-up RP, then yes, MG Alliance or WrA Horde is better. Still, Horde RP on MG is far from dead. It’s just far more guild/event oriented. At this point, I think it’s reasonable to say that if you’re still a Horde RPer on MG, it’s because you prefer that kind of RP.

lol makes sense those two make such comments.

The Pook still runs into some horde trouble makers every now and then while doing my Rogue Booping rounds in Stormwind. These guys are way out of my league but usually some tougher guys will show up and escort them out of the city.

Been a lot of Taurens lately. Somebody though it was a good idea to give the beef-bois some lessons in being sly and now we got Tauren rogues to worry about.

Not all of them are bad though. Some of them like to give the Pook headpats. I’m fine with that. They don’t stab the Pook and the Pook won’t stab them. But then some Long-Leggedy comes by, discovers the beef-boi and figures it’s time for a BBQ and before you know it the Pook is caught in the crossfire of a lot of Long-Leggedy drama.

And the thing that gets me, is people in Stormwind always go on and on about how unsafe it is in Boralus. “Oh! Boralus is so dirty and has so much crime”. Yeah you know what we don’t have in Boralus? We don’t have horde gankers, that’s what we don’t have. But no! No! Boralus is the dangerous city.

Everyone says its dead but I’ve made 3-4 Horde alts in the last few years. Maybe I’ve had good luck but every time I’ve walked into the tavern there in Orgrimmar, there’s been the same Orc dude telling stories.

While I admit it’s def not as plentiful as WrA, I love MG mainly due to the people I enjoy hanging with being here. That and I get away from the RP that gives me an aneurysm that we see in SW MG and Org WrA. You all know what I’m talking about, those profiles that make you go What the actual ****!

Plus if any of the guilds do anything on WrA 11/10 times they’ll invite RPers from MG if it’s open to others.

The fact remains at this point with cross server the only real different is how empty is rn on that server. I will stay with my friends and RP with my friends. So I will stay MG Horde here. And no amount of “Horde MG is dead” will change this. And it gladdens me to see things like Kosharg and Loato’nea’hok that brings people together.

If you aren’t finding RP you just aren’t looking for it.

Judgmental much?

Extreme levels of cope, make it everyone else’s fault that they can’t find anyone… but given some of the asinine judgements you’ve put on people you’ve never met, it doesn’t surprise me. If you’re what the Horde has to offer, they sure aren’t offering much.

Well isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?

Even you cast judgments on people you don’t know.

This is not the reverse uno you think it is, friendo. Nice try, though.

Edit: Actually… nah. On second thought, you right. You’re a mean-girl embarrassment all on your own. No additional affiliation necessary.

This you? And here you are being Toxic.

Calling out jerks when I see them is not toxic.

The fact you think someone else calling anyone out make them a jerk, but you get the sole exception is actually crazy mate.

Like at least I don’t pretend to hide behind what I’m doing is somehow right. My takes on peoples RP is just the my takes, while you try to apply yours as some rule everyone must follow.
