I’m just now doing Chains of Domination and am at the part where Draka gets promoted to Margrave with Thrall next to her.
Made me wonder what happened to Durotan. He died honourably so shouldn’t he also be there?
He’s in a different afterlife. The ones we’re hanging out in are the “main” ones but they’re not the only ones.

There’s been a lot of death over the last 17 years, some conspicuous in their absence, like Varian. Others are just left out to be able to flesh out the story meaningfully for those that were included.

This is the biggest and worst part of this expansion. Allegedly there are infinite after-lives, but the four main ones have first picks and there’s zero evidence of any of the other ‘after-lives’ existing at all. Worst of all the four main after-lives suck and are full of very mundane mortal-like problems. I hate it. I hate the Shadowlands.

This further solidifies the Shadowlands as hell… you get separated from your mate after you die.

You can see dozens upon dozens of gateways on the Arbiter’s platform. Beyond that, there are a handful of references to other realms scattered around, like a sinstone in Revendreth mentioning the soul of an inventor being destined for Craftenium once they’ve absolved, and the Bulwark of Divine Intent being a relic from one informally called “The Inn of Forever,” which might be the Hearthstone tavern.
That said, they could’ve come up with a few more for flavor’s sake.

And this story is reason I have given up on WoW lore. Shadowlands should never have happened it cannot address this many things.

Varian’s soul was fully disenchanted by Gul’dan.
He won’t be appearing in an afterlife because there’s no soul left.

That bothers me. Just because you get disenchanted is no reason to no longer exist in some form.
Pure energy being what it is and all. I guess it’s dumb to try and apply real life to this story though.

They don’t get first picks. They just get the souls that are most fitting of being in them. Among a universe of souls pouring in constantly only a tiny few would actually go to these covenants. But if they’re chosen it’s because they have the right qualities for it.
The four covenants are also optional, except Revendreth. It’s because they have actual responsibilities that souls can choose to not take part in it and go back to the Arbiter for a second judgment if they wanted. The Arbiter is just giving them a chance to do something for a greater service.
But yes the endless other afterlives do exist. Blizz has said it directly that there are and also in game too it’s obvious these are not all there is to the SL.
Coming up tomorrow it’s also the reason Zereth Mortis exists. This particular zone is here to create afterlife zones and creatures, that’s what the First One’s constructs and machinery are tasked with doing. They’re still making new things. The Shadowlands is a vast realm.

Disenchanted huh? I always pictured Gul’dan as more of a scribe. This week is unfolding much differently than I was expecting.

Yeah, I found him more of an alchemy/scribe guy with all that cauldron and doomspeaking for the Legion stuff, but he’s apparently a ???/Enchanter.
After all, he has an army of demon alts to farm raw mats, so he might just constantly learn new profs.

You would think the guy able to change “all of reality” affects all those afterlifes not just the 4 we see as if durotan is in another then so are other souls of Azeroth and thus they would be part of this anyway.
Just a starwman for lazy writing and lazy plot. So much of an absolute waste of an expansion that should of been put on hold til better done or not at all.
Missed out on SO MANY AWESOME LORE CHARACTERS TO MEET.
Also Carine bloodhoof and Grom hellscream from our realm? Krasus consort of alaztrasa…i mean if the dreamer can be here…
