I long for the revival that will never come.
Iām unsure what really happened. I think there are thousands of factors and situations that denizens from Emerald Dream can point to and say, thatās it. That was the fall. Youāre probably all right, it was a sum total I think, likely the same issues that caused the fall of my home server of Frostmane in late TBC. I remember that it was debated for years. I donāt miss it, because Emerald Dream was a titan of servers in its respective time, but that time was just done, at least in my humble opinion. If anything, I am saddened by those who stayed on dead RPPVP servers such as Venture Co, Ravenholdt, and Twisting Nether during Emerald Dreamās peak, because they didnāt get to experience it. Many āissuesā that people speak about in the gaming community today were some of the best things about Emerald Dream and I will forever defend that. If anything, Iām relieved that it happened, that I was there, and I will tell stories about Emerald Dream until the game is ashes, whether itās offensive or not.
So many storiesā¦ but hey we got to enjoy them! Things change with time, its ok. What makes good memories is that we got to experience those things when now people do not understand what and how great ED was. Nothing lasts forever but I do hope that in the future blizz can refocus its efforts on things other than just pve and really get some good pvp/wpvp stuff going again along with the RP aspect.

I quit about 3 months into legion and just came back in the last season of dragonflight. (7-8 years)
Iām terribly disappointed with what Iāve seen since Iāve returned. The game has become single player. Warmode while I guess, good in theory, has no place on a server like ours. There no longer seems to be any faction pride, at least not horde side. Iām outnumbered everywhere I go. This was a 50/50 server when I left.
Iām certain this could all change overnight with the right catalyst.

Yeah. I was disappointed that recently I was able create a new alt, turn on WM at lvl 20 and pretty much level him to 70 with only one death at the hands of another player. Lol.
I do miss watching the skies for an ambush in a pvp realm.
