My answer comes as a former co-GM of one of the most successful guilds on Emerald Dream before “what happened” happened. And besides, I was on the sever between patch 5.1 and sometime around late Legion. The guild was called Lioncrest.

Blizzard has put so little development into anything that isn’t instanced in this expansion, it really killed any sense of community or faction conflict. Emerald Dream’s death is a consequence of that.

Warmode isn’t a bad idea, but the implementation is trash. Really, Blizzard is great at conceiving of content, but then implementing it in such a way that it’s absolute garbage.
