I’m a nostalgic junkie and I just want my Vanilla to be as it was. No store, no name/faction changes no nothing! AND no Bnet lol I swear people stopped TRYING to interact the moment they add you to Bnet. Back in the day the people on your friends list were important and you strived to keep in touch! I want my OLD PVP and no mogging. I remember having to keep bag space to have pretty things on while sitting in town lol. Keep it clean, keep it classic!
As for the memory bit that was mentioned. I know mine were not changed too much. I faithfully recorded moments with gamecam (before fraps) and a nerdy WoW diary complete with hand drawn talent trees of uberness and print out even from Thottbot. To be honest most of the important memories took place at certain locations and even if they were not correct memories their greatness will still be triggered by an old world and I will run around grinding with that grin on my face a mile wide. Classic is going to make this hag happy lol
People get their panties in a twist over launch Sharding, or Loot trading.
It is really sad - because these are guarantees.
People refer to Loot trading as a game breaker because “Increased Ninja looting” - just turn on Master looter - or group with familiar faces - People you trust. Do the exact same thing you were doing in Vanilla to avoid Ninjas…
You are BOUND to get burnt a hand full of times.
And sharding is such a needed thing.
The launch experience would be brutal otherwise.
If blizzard wants to maximise Launch profits - they’ll let as many people come on and play as possible.
You’ll likely see people post Sharding as a reason - and then slowly back away from it as an “I quit” feature.
Because internally they know how stupid it would be to not exist at launch.
At this point I’m not that picky, so I would go with:
Anything cross-server, including BGs.
Any sort of sharding/phasing.
Blizzard store and all it entails, including tokens, character services, mounts, etc.
All of these are more likely to happen than not, considering Blizzard’s track.
I can accept many changes as I am really craving for playing Classic. I want to visit all destroyed zones, I want to see all NPCs who disappeared miserably after Cataclysm, the worst move that Blizzard have ever done imo.
I have been playing and interested in Blizzard games since early 90s, The Lost Vikings one of my favorite game back then. I am really feeling sometimes so genuinely sad how a company’s vision can change in such a negative manner subjectively.
The only thing that will keep me away from the game I fell in love with and missing desperately, if I see any track of black suits who are changing the original game for more profit. I so wish the redevelopment of Classic kept out hidden of all vision that current team has. Don’t go too harsh on me as these are only my humble and sincere opinions.
I am in the no changes boat… with one recent exception.
Tokins. SOME People who are money wealthy/time poor have always bought gold. On the opposite end of the scale SOME people who are time rich / money poor have sold gold…
Tokins just take the dodgy 3rd party and hacking/botting out of the game. And honestly its not like a tokin in vanilla will get you 100k gold… it will be on classic AH prices so maybe 100g…?
Tokins or 3rd party websites selling gold the point is either way there will be gold being sold… I know I would prefer people have access to tokins personally but each to their own…
I know this has been done to death, but repetition gets the point across
Deal-breakers would be…
WoW Tokens
Sharding (I won’t play till they are disabled)
Any graphical updates
Shop
There are several other things like loot trading I wouldn’t like, but these are the only things that would keep me from playing.
I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt, although I think loot trading is going to kill it for me.
It lead to guild drama when it first started in ToC, with people whispering begging to be given/sold gear that they lost rolls on, or rolling to give to their friends.
Loot trading makes me think items will be held hostage by groups dominated by friends/guildies. You’ll have such a giant disadvantage rolling on items as well it’s really gonna suck. People for the most part we’re pretty honorable on evil illegal servers so I’m hoping good prevails and people use it ‘fairly’.
In all honesty what I want is a playing experience which is greater then the current BFA one but I’m pretty flexible about it. They want to keep it 100% vanilla I’ll play it, they want to change a few things but the game is still super fun to play, I’ll stick around.
