Never underestimate the ability of bad writers to butcher something more, even if you think it’s been completely destroyed. I had to watch this happen to my favorite show in its last 2 seasons. It seemed like every episode was an order of magnitude worse than the last. Every time I thought they hit absolute bottom, that it couldn’t possibly get any worse, they managed it by an order of magnitude.

What the emerald dream was, was a blue-print for the ordering of Azeroth. An exact and unblemished copy kept as a failsafe and template.
What it’s about to be retconned into remains to be seen.

With all this info I think I need to draw a diagram .
Unfortunately, it’s more likely that Metzen coming back is part of the same strategy that had them “unpruning” abilities: Blizzard panicked and tried to placate players by addressing their complaints, but not in a sensible way, since now we just have poorly designed classes with a clusterf*ck of abilities. I expect the same result with the lore, even with Metzen back.

Nah, not GOT…although the ending of that was ALMOST as bad. It’s Friendship is Magic.
As I understand it. It’s pretty much a glorified blueprint. Something to look at in case the actual world deviates too much from the planned design.

Twenty thousand or more. Possibly hundreds of thousands to millions. Sargeras defeated the Pantheon before he recruited the Eredar, which we know happened about 20 thousand years ago
Sums up what happened.
Many felt WoW hit rock bottom in BFA, that it couldn’t possibly get any worse — Then they managed it by an order of magnitude with Shadowlands, whilst also completely violating the lore of the past that people use to love, to justify their garbage story.
