Note to self, do not put the Void Elf in the dryer… I kind alike that Void Elf.
he know what he did.
He had an evil Magic-Girl transformation, stabbed a big blue lady (she’s fine), slapped up the NPC squad while we faught Sylvanas in Sanctum then was a mid-raid boss in Sepulcher.
I think his major problem is that on some level he fears he enjoyed what he was forced to do.
So, murdering people is to Anduin what drugs are to others.
Anduin is basically Dexter. He just needs an outlet for his “dark passenger”, and a “code”.
I don’t think he murdered anyone, unless we’re counting raid wipes.
Who cares what that crybaby did in the shadowlands? I kinda wish he stayed there to atone for w/e self perceived misdeeds he committed and just left the world of azeroth alone.
Anduin is officially an episode of Steven Universe…
He attacked a Smurf, More Smurfs, something like that.
Shadowlands happened.
To tell the truth, it appears to be coming to the realization that he isn’t perfect and struggling to cope with it.
Boy just needs a good pep talk.
So let there be no way back. From that temptation I sunder us. No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise.
Henceforth, he shall walk.
All is excruciating pain. I breathe fire and torment. I birth a world of suffering, to mire and plague.
In one fleeting moment, lives come and go, ever moving towards the unknown. And in that fleeting moment, they cry for the answer to the question: Why, given life, are they meant to suffer. To die…
As fragmented, imperfect beings, yours is a never-ending quest. A quest to find your purpose, knowing your end is assured. To find the strength to continue, when all strength has left you. To find joy, even as darkness descends…
And amidst deepest despair, light everlasting.
It’s kind of funny, looking at his plight after going through FFXIV. Despite being the “Big Good” of the whole story, Hydaelyn technically has the second highest kill-count in the whole setting with the sundering of Etheyris. Second only to Meteion, who’s closer to a scared child.
But Hydaelyn doesn’t deflect the blame of her crimes. She knows she did terrible things, even if they were necessary.
… or maybe Thancred could just deck him and tell him to “learn to live with it”. Wouldn’t be the first time he’s done so to whiny nobility.
He had to put up with Shadowlands. We all have PTSD from that.
…
Honestly, I think it’s simply the case of the current lore people inheriting the very very very bad writing of the previous group. Ever since Metzen left, they never really could figure out what to do with Andy.
Now that Metzen is back, I think the current team is trying to give Andy some kind of redemptive, “time to man up” arc… and although his story in Hallowfall makes him look a bit wimpy, he does step up in the end.
The big thing was he felt bad that he enjoyed the attempted murder. ( and all the actual murder when he killed a bunch of Night Fae ) Dude was fighting for a long time to be a more pacifist guy.
All the trauma he suffered before that when he was younger didn’t help. The Zovaal stuff was just the straw that broke the camels back
Think of him like a way younger Vash the Stampede when he was forced to kill Legato in the OG 90s Trigun anime.
Also remember. His big issue with the light is because it was the light that got the Jailer curious about using him.
May you never know the traumatizing hell that is PTSD.
Lorewise he likely killed a few people during either his fight/serving the Jailer. Heck we have lore that he at least killed some of the Night Fae. You can see the bodies all around him:
What expansion have the elements not answer Thrall? Legion? It honestly just feels like that all over again. By the end, the light will answer him completely and he’ll be a paladin.
Way back in the day, Anduin didn’t have the gearscore to get into ICC raids so he cried to his dad about elitist jerks gatekeeping content and his dad implemented the badge of justice system, which was the first step down the slippery slope to the slogfest welfare pug oriented crap we put up with today.
Basically, Anduin was the first gen z forum whiner.
A Dry Elf, you could say?
It was because, deep down on some level, he enjoyed it. And that scared him causing him to doubt if he was worthy to call upon/wield the Light.
He’s being a huge drama queen. Crying about “wHaT IvE dOnE”. Completely ignoring the fact that he has no choice in the matter. Andy in is the ultimate virtue signaler.
Eff him! Maybe now Anduin know how it feel to mind control silly dwarves. Brann also mind controlled a developmentally challenged boy and those chickens came home to roost for him.
