So much this.
Welllllll they probably shouldnât have lied about the community not wanting it when overwhelmingly the community has voted for it.
âthe communityâ is the forum trolls spamming their same LFD tripe for the last day, or the reddit cesspool of ineptitude? Wow, Iâm sure they talk for all of us. Iâm sure the people that are happy/indifferent about this change are spending their time on these sites. Yeesh.
Well then I donât think they should have said the comminity wanted this as it tells me that I am not wanted in classic anymore.
I know itâs contversial but you donât throw gas a roaring fire between two fighting sides and execpt things to get better. They should try and stop the divide in the comminity, not increase it.
What theyâve said is that they want to preserve the spirit of classic from the community that wanted classic back in the first place. Which they have often ignored in the last 3 years, but they are throwing a bone to. Which is good. Letâs keep it that way.
But what they really want is people to buy unlimited level 70 boosts
Probably yes. Considering the revenue request from their shareholders/finance people. Considering the devs (Holly + Brian) were apologetic when the boost was announced showed that that was a financial decision which they were forced to make.
Having a boost (which is against the spirit of classic) does not mean every other feature that erodes that gets a free pass.
There are reasonable arguments on both sides of this LFD things. What Iâve seen in the last day shows that thereâs a good reason that âcommunity feedbackâ is often ignored because itâs clearly the tripes of entitled children.
Fasc at least argues his point well, but he is the exception.
Iâm not going to argue anything on LFD except for the fact that it was there, and should be there at least in ICC.
Itâs not even the worst of supposed changes though, so really itâs not that big of a deal.
This will be my last response to you and these boards.
Yes.
Unequivocally, resoundingly, YES
Blizzard knew people played Classic as a waiting-room for TBC, including the changes and improvements and QoL and the warts-n-all it brought.
Blizzard knew people played both Classic and TBCC as a waiting-room for Wrath, for the same reasons.
Blizzard knows there are even people waiting on Cata, MoP, even Legion.
Now they pull âSpirit of Classicâ garbage after adding in Retail features like Same Faction BGs and Boosts. The very thing that caused people to up and quit Classic as we moved into TBCC is being offered yet again, with a more appreciable reward for doing so, while simultaneously Blizzard suddenly decides that we need to go hard in the paint for some amorphous Vanilla-purist claptrap about âSpirit of Classicâ? The last time they trotted that out was during the #nochanges period of Vanilla as they tweaked and modified to keep ahead of player behavior relative to the experiences.
And now we go backwards, and if we keep getting new expansions, each of those will be even further removed from what they were.
I donât give a ratâs ass if they fervently believe in their heart of hearts that LFD somehow âkilled the social fabric of the gameâ because, as Birmingham said himself, in some fantasy reality that has never existed on this planet ever people really make good friends figuring out who is going to fulfill what role and teaching/guiding each other to the dungeon.
Blizzard committed to authenticity first.
Then Blizzard committed to authenticity second with changes that made sense to adapt to the modern gaming audience that was playing Classic and TBCC.
Now Blizzard is committing to authenticity second with changes that make might make sense to adapt to an amorphously defined group of WoW fans with Opinionsâą about the Evil-Evil-Retailâą.
TLDR: Blizzard is incompetent and run by morons, and Iâm done.
Thatâs fair. However we are clearly on a #somechanges path.
People being ok with non-classic features being added to TBC (boosts, same faction bgs, etc.) suddenly playing the authenticity (no-changes) card is silly.
Iâd give up my paladin seal in tbc any day for a #nochanges wrath.
Nerfing dual spec?
Messing with lockouts?
Who comes up with these horrible ideas?
weâre being given wrath minus
âitâs the expac you know and love now with less contentâ
No weâre given a Wrath with #somechanges that are in the spirit of classic. The people whining about it donât want classic, but now itâs convenient for them to argue authenticity when all throughout TBC they said that the game needs to change.
Again itâs nonsense and most people will be there day 1 of WoTLK classic with or without LFD or any other change. WoTLK is a great expansion and will be so this time around as well.
lol I remember the whole point of classic + stuff was adding stuff not taking stuff away.
Itâs not a great expac if you take all the QoL stuff out
hurrah even more raid logging
I made the decision not to ruin my memories of Wrath and play Elden Ring with a freind instead/try out the new race/class in retail. I always wanted to play the following three races. Dragon, naga, or a dark ranger so I will give it a try for at least that.
I mean, we didnât really get many changes in TBC, no one really asked for any changes we did get (like early guild banks and seals).
Life would have gone on with no changes there, and life would go on with no changes here, theyâre just stirring the pot for no reason.
Great! See you both on release day.
looking less and less likely for me
