Would be great if they made the Drakonid playable for those that want it, though I prefer the Dracthyr as they are now. I have always leaned towards lean and athletic rather than bulky and super strong.
Would might have been neat instead is if they had given us actual dragons to play. Obviously not while fighting, as that would have been awkward, but something like all the races with some draconic features as the main race, and then a second customisable dragon form they could shift into for a mount or something.
All that said, I still love my Dracthyr. I am happy we got them as a race.

This I definitely agree with. As much as I would have liked a blue between the light blue and the dark blue with got with the Dracthyr, their customisation over all is amazing. It would be great if the other races were brought up to match. Some of them are looking pretty anemic.

I remember there being posts about Female Worgen “should have looked like this” and the end result for the longest time was a rabid rat cosplaying as a low res, low poly wolf head on a battered dreanei frame with fauxfur ordered off of Wish.

I know people are wanting Drakonids to play but my gods am I glad that we got Dracthyr I am so tired of Races that look like they swallowed a Refrigirator. I’m more of a fan of the lean and lanky look.

Lol I’d say a good amount of people asked for Drakonids instead of Dracthyr.
I was one of 'em.
Blizzard said “No”, they worked really hard on the twink geckos, so by golly, you’re gonna play those instead.
I dropped all interest as soon as I found out we had to be elves for our visage form.
Yet another class, like DH, that’s locked into elves or elf lookalikes.
Pass.
If you ask me, Drakonids seem more “Warcraft-y” to me lol. Plus, no need for visage. They are cool as-is.
Dracthyr make sense as like a mage/caster variant, but idk about warriors, they’re too scrawny.
Yet, that’s what they were presented as- elite warriors?
