What does general think of Streamer's promoting classic while trashing BFA? :(

Well i didnt want to beat a dead horse, but largely my biggest gripe with bfa is it just feels unrewarding. A lot of the current problems were in legion too, however i was actually invested in fighting demons. I couldnt care less about the war or Sylvanas. (The old gods interest me, but coming so late in the expansion im already apathetic about the story.

Gear progression doesnt matter because in 2-3 months a new patch will come out to reset everything, and catch up mechanics will be brought up to were you can get comparable gear or better to the last tier. I just don’t see the point in doing a lot of hard work which will cease to matter in such a short time.

On the topic of gear the fact that its a slot machine is infuriating. Do i get something actually useful? Did it titanforge? If i can’t use it is it hopefully not an upgrade so i can give it away?

Leveling feels hollow. There’s no real danger, actually leveling up doesnt provide any rewards, while its neat that i can level wherever i want the fact that mobs level with me makes it feel like im never getting any stronger.

I have a couple more gripes but im sitting at work and people are starting to stare XD

BFA is not a high quality expansion. it is obvious that it not well thought out or executed compared to some of the better expansions. it feels like it was created on a shoestring budget.

blizz deserves any and all criticism it is getting

ok and i can respect that and have a general discussion about that. I was right on reset checking my mythic chest and I’m leveling inscription. Talking with my Gm and some guildies in discord about this like this is why i generally don’t visit forums.

People don’t have discussions, just whiney rants sounding like a spoiled child. I mean i admit i did like the story of legion more. The rewarding issue, it’s a balance i think.

I mean the gear progression issue you mentioned, that’s the way i think of every mmo and every patch. It’s like i can say well i won’t buy bfa in september, I’ll just play it in June and catch up.

Thing is by then you will have a harder time getting into content people now have on farm. You would have missed out on mother and other bosses in Uldin. I have a season 1 pvp hippo I wouldn’t have gotten had i skipped out on. And i love it lol.

But the hard work i mean i dunno is self rewarding. There will be certain achievements you can’t do. Um the gear topic, as i said to someone else, if i am leveling inscription, you can and should scrap that gear and get mats useful

I can tell you as someone who is leveling a monk lol windwalker is VERY hard to solo and do wq’s and knock out the story campaign quests. So by scrapping gear i don’t need, it gives me expulsom, that in turn gives me a blood contract and this dam hyena is so op lol it’s going to make questing awesome.

Leveling, well i mean that’s class based imo. I can say as someone who has multiple alts, some alts i die a lot others i don’t. Hell as a DH leveling as Havoc is WAY different than Vengeance. But if you make an alt, i can say being at level 20 or level 90 for every class is a world of difference.

Brewmaster is a whole different class at 100 then 50. But regardless as i said i respect and enjoy an actual gripe or criticism. It’s more rewarding to read reasoning vs derp i don’t like it. So thanks.

Streaming is what I do in front of the toilet several times a day to remove excess fluids. Which is sort of my general opinion of people making their living (or trying to) getting people to donate to watch them play video games and offer commentary.

It’s simple. they are streamers. this is about money. they can only bash BFA so much before people just stop watching.

So they move on to the next popular topic. Classic and how it’s better than BFA… because they probably dont give a flying fudge… they just want the money.

Personally everyone that thinks classic is going to be so amazing doesn’t really remember how it used to be.

Leveling is fun… and that’s it.

Raids are easy, class balance is broken asf, RNG is like a million times worse… fire resist gear took months to get for a simple raid… it’s going to be a leveling simulator blizzard uses to take you away from the crap shoot bfa is and hope to god it holds your miserable attention long enough before either your nostalgia goggles fall off, or you realize classic is an old game that really doesn’t age well.

By then BFA will be at an end and the hype of the new expansion and the promises of all the cool things they will add to fix BFA will keep people continually hyped…

Blizzard is great at one thing… Marketing and planning content around it’s fiscal year quarters to keep people subbed.

I mean are they really wrong?

Classic is a superior game. BFA looks nice and everything, and it’s great if all you want to do is raid, mythic+, arena/RBG, or collect stuff, but that’s pretty much the extent of the game. The rest of it is of very little consequence.

The economy sucks. Community doesn’t really exist outside of guilds. Gearing feels like going to the casino. Classes don’t feel very unique. Dungeon layouts are simple, and always easy to navigate (there is nothing that has ever come close to how awesome BFD was). Questing is boring; Click green eye to summon players who may as well be NPCs. Professions are shallow and designed in a vacuum.

Blizzard refuses to remove awful features like LFD that were like a nuclear bomb to how the entire genre is played. There have been other solutions to the problems that people had with dungeoneering that should have replaced LFD - Meeting stones, more viable tank/heal specs, the ability to swap specs at any time, gear stats that change with spec, most classes having some sort of cc option - Yet LFD remains as the solution. They clearly value LFD more than the social element that it destroyed. It is absolutely worthy of being called out as trash MMORPG design because it still exists despite a decade of the player-base pointing this out.

Flex solves the original reason they splintered raids into multiple modes - yet we now have four modes. The path of least resistance used to also be the path of most resistance, and it felt epic. The problems with Classic were over-solved to the extent that BFA and Classic should be considered different genres.

The current game is clearly not designed to be “game-play first” because the elements that made Classic great have been undermined year after year. It doesn’t need to be hardcore, they could launch more accessible realms - it just needs to feel more like a world again.

Classic will be short lived.

You’re right. There is zero max level content.

It’s understandably warranted in my opinion. Retail has been terrible this expansion, worse than ever before. They’re seemingly blatantly ignoring the community worse than ever before…

BFA deserves it; it’s a sub-par expansion.

Saying anything positive about BfA gets you labeled a shill, and crapping on BfA while singing the praises of Classic gets you likes, subs, and donations. In that kind of atmosphere it’s not really surprising to see streamers mostly doing the latter.

I don’t care because I don’t watch “streamers”. I either play the game or I don’t. What some putz says about a game while streaming himself playing the game means nothing to me.

It’s getting old. They are intentionally ignoring all the problems that plagued vanilla WoW, especially at the end game where there is absolutely nothing of value for non raiders to do. Where PvP was ridiculously one sided due to horrible class balance, horrible class design for classes like Paladin and Shaman (Paladins forced to heal in raids because their dps spec was crap and prot spec was vastly inferior to warrior), mage super duper squishiness, and raid gear basically let raiders one shot non raiders.

Having downtime after every couple of mobs gets real old real fast. SO why they are praising having to sit down after every couple of mobs just because it’s different from what we have now really gets me. If it was so fun then why did people complain about it and why did Blizzard remove the need to have sit down every couple of mobs in WotLK, the most popular version of WoW?

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

You must have never played vanilla WoW if you honestly believe this is true.

not trying to sound negative, but then isn’t that what you do when you hit max level lol? Like if you play wow classic and you hit 60, do you not raid and do mythic, oh yeah there wasn’t any, so you don’t raid and try to aquire your tier sets?

Also more viable tank and healing speccs? Prot warr, Dk, Dh. Brew, Paladin. All viable mythic and raiding tanks.

Healing. Holy paladin, 2 priest speccs, mistweaver, druid, shaman, all fine raid and mythic speccs.

Classic wow didn’t have that much variety. Dam sure when most Holy paladins were wearing cloth gear because good luck finding plate with Intellect lol

yeah ask anyone who fought a rogue 1v1

Could care less what a bunch of nerd raging twitch, youtube streaming buffoons addicted to world of Warcraft think lol. Some people like the expansion, and some don’t. Tbh the only complaints I see about the expansion are the usual suspects that post nothing but negative crap on this forum. Everyone else is just minding their own business, and playing the game.

I don’t watch streamers. I think they are stupid.

I think anyone who trashes BFA is stupid. What are they comparing it to? ESO? FFIXVIABCXXV? No. Usually trashers are comparing BFA to “a fantasy perfect game” that only exists in their mind. Or a “rose-colored memory” of how they felt, playing Classic.

I played Classic, for years. BFA is 100 times better than Classic. Was I more excited, my 1st year playing WoW? Of course. Was the game more exciting? No. It was just newer to me.

Some people in this world have a hard time watching other people have fun if that fun is not within the parameters they have decided upon.
