On my Viper Ultimate I bound them to 1 and 2 + modifiers which are the only number binds I use outside of 5 for my non dps covenany abilties gasp I know.
The rest are bound to keyboard binds 
and yes I can fully bind every spell 
I stopped using MMO mice and can’t go back 
but to shorten the answer I use them for builder/spender spells even tho I hit them way more often on the keyboard but they are there for when I have to move or wanna be lazy.
Volume controls.
Sometimes I will have YouTube videos or music going while I play, but my family says I listen too loud.
I have them bound to strafe, so I can hold right-click + a side button to strafe without changing my camera angle.
In COD: the knife! (you could kill someone by stabbing his feet)
In WOW: nothing.

Forward is usually interrupt and back is usually main reactionary move
Just autorun unless I am healing, then it’s my dispell and HoT.
Front mouse button is my interrupt. Back mouse button is some sort of movement ability, with a Shift modifier that’s for Soulshape on four of my 60s lmao
Auto run on this character, but healing spells on my healers.
usually defensives/long cds, with control and shift binds too so its not too bad
also can use the mouse wheel, have shift and ctrl on that too
Button 4: autorun (default, I believe)
Button 5: pet attack - I play a lot of hunters and 'locks…
Mousewheel up: target party1
Shift mousewheel up: badge/battlemaster
Ctrl mousewheel up: avenging wrath
Mousewheel down: target party2
Shift mousewheel down: wall
Ctrl mousewheel down: aura mastery
Mousewheel tilt right: trinket
Shift Mousewheel tilt right: racial
Mousewheel tilt left: sac
Shift mousewheel tilt left: sac focus
Crrl mousehweel tilt left: sac party2
And then the 12 thumb buttons are a disaster
Edit: i’ve always used scrollwheel tilt for back/forward in the browser o.o when i did a lot of text editing i had the side buttons bound to keyboard shortcuts
I’ve never modified any keybinds. I don’t even know how to do it! Lol
I just know the forward button is autorun.
I really wish i’d learned keybinding with the keyboard

have a 5 extra button mouse (sharkoon skiller) and all binds are movement.
autorun, mount up, speed boost, ect.
I never got used to those with more buttons. just… overkill.
They are either heal abilities, or placement abilities, prioritizing healing.
That’s a very personal question! Mouse touching is between me and the mouse!
Autorun and jump.

-macro for quick quest items
