SL: Increased character customization for most races.
It would seem we’re due for a new class. Tinker would be interesting but I’m putting more money on additional allied races at most if not just more character customisation.
I think we’re finally going to get player housing, it won’t really be how we wanted it exactly and it’ll be corrupted in many ways that’ll upset us and force us to do different things that we really don’t want to do, why? Because it’s the Blizzard way lol
They need another class. It has to be a mail wearing class. One of the largest turn off from my sham and hunter is the lack of transmog to farm. All other armour classes have so many pages more than mail. Farming mog is the only thing I enjoy and they have never added in a new mail class. It’s gotten even worse now that they don’t even do tier sets which also had offsets to farm. The decline is so depressing.
This is my best bet, given Blizzards current track record on mostly doing the easier thing, I feel like it’s going to be either removing most class restrictions, or greatly open up class/race combos. It seems the easiest way to appease a lot of people doing bare minimum work.
In saying that, I’d be greatly happy if new races or a class/classes do come but my hopes are very slim on either of those decisions.
They seem to be focusing a lot of their efforts in more customisations, what better way to customise your preferred Race with greater or all class selections. Easy, animations are already their, minimum effort, yes a few totems and Druid forms need to be created, but knowing Blizzard they’ll just share the totems/forms from other races until later… such a Orc DH Metamorphosis might look like a Blood Elf until more unique forms are created further down the pipeline. Same as say a Gnome Shaman might use a Dwarf totem till they fully flesh it out, more like placeholders.
Honestly, I hope it’s something that I don’t feel forced to grind for 2 years.
I think the next feature will be community-focused. If they aren’t blowing smoke and actually care about their culture, then they need to address community behavior in some way. (This goes beyond bowls of fruit jokes, of course. But I do think we’ll see something like Overwatch commendations.)
A joke, but it is not unprecedented. Lineage and Lineage II in their original forms had infinite timegated grinds, and that was the draw. You create a society of permanent pecking order based on when you started grinding. Every second you fell behind was permanently lost. The most powerful would be who could keep grinding the longest and there was no catching up, unless you paid the developer a massive bribe. Anyone at the top either started grinding at the start and never stopped, or paid $100,000 to get placed there, both considered highly respectable ways to gain power in SK society. This model creates a very temporary game, though. After a few years there is no hope to ever become strong enough to make any impact on the game, so no new players come. With no one to oppress, there is no reason to grind. The community collapses suddenly from both ends in this model.
Demonhunter really should have been a mail armor class. That way there’d have been 3 classes for every armor type. Warlock, Priest, Mage for cloth. Monk, Rogue, Druid for leather. Death Knight, Warrior, Paladin for plate. Then finally Hunter, Shaman, and Demonhunter for mail.
I don’t want anymore races. I have race fatigue and some of the existing ones need more story. I really don’t want a new class either. There is so much they have to balance.
I honestly want an advanced mobile game that has real story to it.
