What do you think the ~ average age is for a Classic player (any version)?

Talked about this in guild briefly yesterday, but my bet was it’s somewhere around 28-33.

Some said that seemed high, but I didn’t think so given the age of the original classic expansions.

If you are under 28 or over 33 that’s fine, I’m just talking about averages.

I think you pretty much nailed it, I think the average age is like 35.

35-40. Most of us are people that played the originals. New kids today do not want to play 15 year old MMOs. They have fortnite and overwatch, not to mention retail with pandas and little anime foxes.

35 to 40 seems right to me.

From my experience 35-40 seems incredibly high as an average. In the more tryhard guilds I’ve been in the average is probably mid to late 20s. In the literal dad guilds its been around early 30s on average.

28-33 sounds about right to me and it might even be lower.

34-39 average age IMO with a larger number of older players VS younger. It is the 18-21 crowd (kids of the older players) that I think throws off the curve. I feel it’s entirely a game for boomers…

Who plays Classic more? People who played Vanilla or people who started later and wanted to know what it was like (especially Cata or later)?

(I played Vanilla. I still play retail, but mainly to earn gold to pay for sub. With some exceptions, I’ve enjoyed Classic more than I expected.)

63 here.
I grew up on video games.
Drop a quarter in machine days.
Than came Pong, Atari, Nintendo, Play Station.
Than the computer games.
All I had was dialup
I couldn’t play on line until late TBC.

its 35+ basically. I’m on the younger side in my guild and I’m 30. 100% boomer game

probably 35.

RE: Boomers. Depending whose chart you use, Boomers currently start at somewhere from age 58 to 63. There are many of us older folks playing (I’m 60) but Xers and early Millenials–~30-45–have seemed the largest demographic from the beginning.

It’s not a “boomer game”, no computer games are, it’s a Gen Xer game.

27 here, so not far off the mark. The way I see it, 80-90% of people playing classic are people who played it way back when. The other 10-20% are people giving it a try.

I’m 27 for what its worth, though I get the impression that I’m among the younger WoW Classic players, I’ve just been playing for a long time (since 13 at least).
