I miss Spirit and MP5, or basically being able to gear for regen. It added another dynamic to healing where you had far more control over your mana regen. You could gear for throughput and cast fewer, stronger spells. You could gear for regen and cast tons of weaker spells. Or, of course, you could find your preferred balance somewhere in the middle. We still have mana trinkets, but that’s about it.
I miss being 23 years old in 2004. The nights gaming until 3 AM.
Once upon a time Hunters invaded the Druid class hall and tamed puppies. Of all the things we had and lost, I think that was the hardest to get over.
I kinda miss farming mounts in previous raids and dungeons. I mean once I get the mount I don’t go back there. I just miss the grind but at the same time I’m glad it’s over. Like fishing for a sea turtle but it was relaxing or sitting with a group to kill Aeonaxx for the Phosphorescent stone drake. We camped for three days nonstop and it spawned and we got em. What a rush.
I miss old world drop needs, like there was for the priest’s fortification spell.
I miss the Garrison from WOD. I thought it was one of the coolest additions and closest things we had to housing.
I would like to see a reversion to the rank system in pvp classic without having to compete against people that can pvp for 19 hours a day.
I miss…
…OG AV and Strand of the Ancients.
…Faction locked PvP raids. Like Vault of Archavon.
…Gear feeling more meaningful when acquired.
…World PvP
…Class identity
RIP Kevin Conroy. You know he was the real Batman that Mark Hamill refuses to voice Joker since he passed.
class order halls and everyone parked at the mission board
I often wonder how things would have turned out if Blizzard put half as much thought on “the journey” as they did for that road sequence leading to the Wetlands. Having travel be frustrating and tedious soured the “return to basics” approach, instead of building something better from that concept.
I always liked returning back to Boralus during BFA.
I miss actual quest hubs. The old world. Leveling being an experience rather than an obstacle to max level.
Several points already listed, such as seeing “The Crossroads is under attack!” and dropping everything to go help. Real night time. Not being able to just fly everywhere. Map PvP objectives / bonuses.
im almost 37 and still regularly stay up till 4am.
- choosing hunter pet spec
- wintergrasp
- it’s been awhile since we’ve had a big, consuming secret like Lucid Nightmare. Jenafur was amazing. As a solo player, it’s one of the few times I enjoy engaging heavily with the community. The secrets discord is great when there’s an active secret.
I miss the legion style class distinction. The class halls, artifacts and campaigns really did a LOT to make the classes (and specs) feel very unique and individual.
If you played a Druid you got a completely different story than a priest or a warrior. It was really well done, and I’d like to see something like that return.
As to what I miss I bet 90% of every one in this forums will disagree but let’s be honest we are strangers to one another and it’s just a game so I don’t really care if I’m in disagreement with you all…
I miss zones having levels and I miss pre level scaling.
Sure it made leveling longer but it made it a bit more interesting IMO.
I miss elite quests where there’s no way you could solo kill the quest mob or at least if you did it meant you were over geared over leveled and lucky …significantly so.
In short I miss some of the old ways.
I miss class specific content and class halls as well. I think that stuff should be evergreen in the game and constantly updated each major patch or expansion.
Legion.
Yes, artifact weapons were incredibly grindy, but at least it felt meaningful and then everything was just thrown out the window. The story went down the drain, class fantasy went down the drain, factions became completly bonkers etc., the game went steeply downhill after Legion.
Horrific visions, boss-rush mode Torghast, Legion class halls and Suramar.
- Claws of Shirvallah
- Hunter pets being unique with unique skills
- Old survival spec
- Old Blood DK spec
- Old glyph system
- Old Crossroads (pre-Cata)
- Set level zones (pre-scaling)
- Pre-sharded Realms
- BFA Az powers (just cause they themed well with some toons)
- The old Faction War
- The Warchief position (before it became a revolving door of death)
- Being able to Hybrid a class (before they split into specs)
EDIT: Forgot to mention Black Arrow. They remove this fun ability and than give us Dark Rangers. Wtf? Would’ve themed really well with Dark Rangers imo.
metamorphsis.
i miss being ignorant to how the game functions
ignorance really is bliss
I miss the old Night Elf female faces and eyes specfically. They really looked like fierce, feline warrior Elves.
