The Last Kingdom on Netflix is also excellent. It deals with the rise of Alfred the Great and the creation of England. Also based on an well written series of novels.
Peaky Blinders
The Umbrella Academy
Gotham
Ripper Street
The Frankenstein Chronicles
The Last Kingdom
Frontier
Narcos
Mindhunter
Sherlock Holmes
Stranger Things
Penny Dreadful
My current guilty pleasure show on Netflix is Call The Midwife.
I actually found the US pilot of Red Dwarf and The IT Crowd, both pretty bad. Red Dwarf kept Robert Llwellyn and The IT Crowd kept Richard Ayoade, but were both pretty bad. Red Dwarf for trying to change too much, and The IT Crowd for trying to pass off Joel McHale as Roy.
Yeah,it was definitely pretty cringey, though as I said, heavily enjoyed Being Human would reccomend
I really enjoyed the characters and how different it was from the federation ran version.
To reiterate some of what others have here:
Amazon Prime:
- [The Boys] (will not start season 2 until all episodes are up. You hear me, Amazon?!)
- I found [The Carol Burnett Show] and was watching that from the beginning. Not sure if it’s nostalgia, or if the later episodes were just better, but the early episodes are rough.
Netflix:
- [Altered Carbon] (Season 1 was better than season 2, IMO, but I do like Anthony Mackie in season 2)
- [The Dark Crystal] (prequel that fills some gaps in the original, like how the Garthim and essence contraption were created)
- [The IT Crowd] (primarily if you have ever worked in tech support, but others might enjoy the not-tech-specific jokes and bits)
- Tried starting [The Witcher] and [Into the Badlands], but just couldn’t keep going
I actually found that I watch more Hulu than anything lately, mainly for not-necessarily-for-kids animation: [Teen Titans GO!], [Rick and Morty], [Archer], [Cowboy Bebop], [Trigun]
Watching [Titans] on Blu-ray. Not sure if it’s available on any platforms, until it gets added to HBO Max. It’s good if you like the grittier violent versions of the characters, or if you are already watching [Doom Patrol].
Yeah, that was another I though about mentioning. It moves along at a good
clip, adapting 2 novels each season. Anyone who enjoys Vikings and/or Game of Thrones I would think might find things to enjoy about it. It’s well acted and while the budget is clearly smaller that GoT, they make the most of it.
I’ve been enjoying Blacklist lately.
id reccomend canceling your subscription to netflix.,
hwoever for a show i watched a while back on amazon prime, The americans was pretty good, so was the man in the high castle. thats probably the last two shows i watched before i decided id rather learn in my spare time from youtube how to videos n reading books when i dont play games.
My wife watches Blacklist. I tried to watch it but I find it to be too boring and I don’t like any of the characters.
Why cancel Netflix? Because of cuties? Do you not shop at walmart or any department store? You know like 90% of the products are made in child labor sweat shops right? What about your aribca coffee from Starbucks? Forced labor camps.
Just some examples of other things you might want to look into before you get self righteous on Netflix.
Don’t be a hypocrite.
If your suggestion to cancel Netflix was not for this reason then ignore my comment.
Funnily enough no I shop online with retailers that source in usa/Canada so this doesn’t exactly strike out at me. By all means boycott all China made products their garbage anyways
update, netflix getting criminally charged, just thought id letcha know that
Yea I saw that. Serves them right for allowing that pedo stuff on their servers.
I’ve really wanted to watch this, just always watch stuff when playing WoW so makes it hard to read subtitles while playing
As far as yall talking about Cuties, odds are nothing will happen sadly.
Blasphemy, I loved the Witcher can’t wait for season 2
Well, mine was English dubbed and had subtitles. Hopefully, that version still exists
From Prime? The Terror: Season One
(Season Two sounds good too, but not seen that myself).
Dunno, I cancelled Netflix because it’s mostly b-grade rubbish. I checked out Amazon with the intention of signing up and found it’s even worse for “new content”. It does have better older movies though.
I cancelled my Disney+ although because I got a years sub I have a month or two left.
There just isn’t much worth watching right now in my opinion. Doesn’t help everything coming up is pretty much just remakes of good movies.
