What did you like about BFA?

Is there daily limits on how much rep you can get or can you grind it at your own pace?

No, but some mobs who give good experience can only be killed once a day. This is a very good guide on how to earn the rep to get the mount:

Thanks for all the information, I appreciate it.

Drustvar and Waycrest Manor. And all the stories and quests surrounding them gets a 10 from me.

Zandalari trolls and Kul tiran druid forms… That’s pretty much it.

Not much. I nope’d out of the expansion before 8.1 and came back solely due to an IRL friend comin’ back. All I’ve done is unlock and level Allied Races… so I guess Allied Races are the only part I liked.

Art and music were on point, as always.

I like the environments - and as someone who get anxiety when they go into bodies of water that’s saying something.

Aesthetics too, and Ny’alotha’s a pretty neat raid, albeit I say this from a super casual stance as I’m unable to raid properly until some computer issues get fixed.

The allied races for both sides have their ups and downs, though I personally feel the ups outweigh the downs.

Corruption gear, visions, essences, raids other than azshara, m+, pvp, weekly boxes, azerite gear after they fixed the system

now my perspective may be a little different than most since I only came back to the game with 8.3 (the shadowlands teasers got me hyped)
as for what I liked.

leveling: was actually a ton of fun the first time through, quests where interesting, zones where diverse enough to not feel repetitive. and going through it subsequent times (especially with the xp boost) it was fast enough and streamlined enough that it never felt like a slog. while its often claimed to be “super alt unfriendly” this is the first expansion i’ve actually bothered leveling any alts.

Dungeons: aside for one or two LOOKING AT YOU TOL DAGOR! i’ve found them overall enjoyable, ended up diving into M+ seriously because of that.

raiding: now ny’alotha is the first time i’ve raided current content since cataclysm, but it feels like a huge improvement, the fights aren’t just mindless gear checks that you can brute force. and I enjoy that the majority of them require actually knowing and following the mechanics. and I found the scaling of those mechanics from normal to mythic to be fairly smooth, not really getting all that more difficult, but getting less forgiving of mistakes, which I think is a good way to do it.

horrific visions: honestly one of the things i’ve been having the most fun with, I really enjoy the progressive challenge of working your way up through the masks, and how it changes doing it solo vs 2’s vs full group each one having its advantages. now its not perfect, and obviously an early test of the torghast concept, I just hope they learn from it and expand on the concept more across future expansions.

now this is probably an unpopular opinion, but overall i’ve really enjoyed my BFA experience, I can see the faults, and understand why some people really dont like it, but I think overall the positives DO outweigh the negatives, and I think in a couple expansions time people will look back on it much more favorably (kinda how panderia was absolutely hated when it was current, but most people now think it was one of the best)

that said, I also acknowledge that my opinion is colored by the fact that I only came back so recently, so its still got a bit of that “new car smell” for me. and if i had been playing for longer many of those annoyances that I can overlook now might have become bigger pain points if i’d had to deal with them for a year+

The art and music are great, but that’s about it for me.

I think Shrine of the Storms,Motherload and Tol Dagor are awful, Temple of Seth used to be high up there but they fixed all the issues with that dungeon post launch and has became one of my favorite dungeons to run.

It’s a step in the right direction for good solo content that you can also do with a friend(s). I just hope they remove any sort of timelimit or forcing the player to go beyond the pace they want. Some people have children and can’t just sit at the PC the entire time when trying to enjoy the game they pay a monthly sub for.

This is what was great about Cataclysm dungeons prenerf. They were super hard and super rewarding. Now if you want to be rewarded for doing a hard and challenging dungeon you gotta do a 15 and to get there you have to rush every time you do your key to get it to a 15.

I think there has been a few things that you could take to another expansion, azerite armor and passives doing most of the work needs to be tossed into the void never to be seen again along with daily rep caps.

In 8.2 they introduced essences which weren’t account bound for some reason and in 8.3 they released an alternative way to obtain them on alts and today they changed how much they cost and increased how much of the currency you can earn at once.

The easiest thing would have been to just make them account bound but they refuse to give the community what they demanded and just give us another hamster wheel to spin.

This is the problem with BFA and activisionblizzard as a whole. They refuse to accept community feedback and implement changes that respects players time and just come up with systems on top of systems on top of rng on top of yet another system.

So while it might not bother you too much right now just returning but just so you’re aware they effectively killed off alts in 8.2 and thus burnt A HUGE chunk of their community. Having hard to earn glyphs that are used by multiple classes not be account bound turned many people, myself included, off of BFA.

I’m trying to enjoy the game now but it’s been difficult for me personally. I think I’m mostly excited for the prepatch for shadowlands so I can see if they screwed feral over or not.

Zandalari Trolls and that was it.

How hard is it to unlock them? I wanted to make a troll druid but they were locked behind a rep wall.

what do you mean about what i liked about bfa?
i mean i may have enjoyed a thing or two but because its bfa they managed to make everything that was a bit enjoyable to get bad.
Zandalari allied race took way too long to get released, when they were finally there i was not interested anymore, the quests got this “the first time” enjoyable feel, doing leveling as an alt is not fun at all.
Pvp is broken, the theme of the expansion i couldnt care less about i wish i was in dalaran drinking tea with kadghar instead of taking part in this stupid war, and the entire expansion is not alt friendly.
Also too much rng, too much grind, too much dailies, too much reputation envolved, and too much mary sue jaina and sylvanas lore in this expansion

I liked the research that reduced the cooldown on my hearthstone…the enchant that made crafting things faster…the reaping and awakened affixes…the end.

Well, with contracts, not as hard as High Mountains were. Even easier if an Invasion goes on in Zandalar providing more WQ to do.

The only good thing that came out of BFA:

So what you’re saying is just hold off until invasions are going on to get decent rep?

No, just make sure you’re doing all the WQ in an invasion when they pop up. The best rep is still emissaries, after completing all the quest lines in the zone. However, having Contract applied and completing all the WQ available in the zone each day does add up, and Invasions add more WQ to the zones they hit. If you have a Contract up, even doing WQ in other areas will help, but very mildly.

Alliance story line. Hands down one of my favorites.
