What did you like about BFA?

All the Craig’s out there are going to be real sad to find out Matt’s get all the action in Goldshire.

But on a serious note, I’m surprised you specifically sold materials, did you farm them yourself or just flip?

Farmed. Do it every morning for 1 - 1 1/2 hr as I drink my coffee. Less competition for matts in early am too.

Love:
Mechagon (Zone). I think its one of the best things to come out of the expansion. Learning about it is exciting. Slowly accruing powers and opening up the environment was a joy. Jetpacks pre flying was so good! And just so many rares in one place with players calling them out those first few weeks really drove community engagement. Total fun.

Horde storyline: Every area felt unique, but all tied into the main narrative. It was simple, clear, and engaging.

The pride of Kul’tiras: Again, such brilliant storytelling. Ruined a little by whoever was cutting onions near me around the conclusion.

Allied Races: Sure, came in Legion, but massively expanded upon in BfA. I really enjoyed working on these (even if i generally hate rep grinds).

Nazjatar puzzle chests: I really like them. Im so sorry, but i do. More silly puzzles, please (note, not platform/jumping puzzles you annoying jellyfish!).

I was trying to stay positive about what I liked. I may not like the reason for needing Contracts, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like when I got help facing that need.

And I found WoD’s Pathfinder Rep to be far far worse in progression, especially the Sableclaw Rep, because there was so little to actually do towards it.

Mechagon is interesting.

I liked the jetpacks most of all for the zone, the dungeon was a really fun challenge to overcome without any mythic+ timer bs. Felt really good

My biggest problem with Mechagon is the theme, well… You know it’s only a big pile of junks right? xd

Goodness I didn’t even realize that that’s what happened but you’re completely right - we did get our glyph system back! Do you think this means we’ll get ACTUAL glyphs in Shadowlands?

And personally, I really loved the aesthetics of this expansion. Boralus is beautiful, Zandalar is stunning, and the patches both showcase some of the best art I’ve seen lately. 10/10 in my book!

I liked trying RP for the first time! I wish people had a better mindset about it, it was pretty fun! Don’t forget that “RP” is 1/3 of “MMORPG.”

Unsubbing early so I didn’t have to deal with everything post 8.1.

Alliance Drustvar and Horde Vol’dun I enjoyed a lot for questing. I liked BoD and Ny’alotha for raiding and fight styles.

My husband liked Uldir when it was current.

I wish we had the Glyph system back. This was worse since it was on a lottery and required different gear if you ran more than one specialization. The old Glyph system at least allowed you to switch between specs pretty easily.

No the post max level progression won’t be allowed to be bought by gold, just like how glyphs now cost another currency that’s tied to some post max level end of expansion content. I world prefer them costing gold instead of some currency that we didn’t have through 90% of the expansion.

I don’t see why they can’t just be account bound other than the fact Ion said they’d never be account bound. I just wish that community feedback was taken into consideration when making changes and not disregarded, because how it feels right now to get essences on alts is just another hoop you must jump through.

Feels bad to me.

The old system respected players time and was a post max level system that worked out well and treated everyone equally.

The art team for blizzard is absolutely amazing, no one could argue against it. But their developers seem to have their scales of balance tipped in the favor of anti player designs meant to keep you subscribed for longer than you would in prior expansions.

Daily rep caps and world quests for specific zones with time gated content serve to only extend your playtime and limit your progress so you’re better off not subscribing to the game until a patch is nearly over to experience most of the content at your own pace. If they’d respect our time and willingness to grind I think they’d have more subs over a longer period of time.

Making and playing alts feels great, but in BFA that fun was nerfed into the ground with the introduction of essences, and later the legendary cloak quests serve as gate keeping to fun gear and end game content at higher levels if you came late into the expansion.

What I liked:

  • Island Expeditions (the graphics and fresh new maps, not the Timers)
  • War Campaign on both factions and the mount rewards
  • Great cinematic (in-game and CGI)
  • Heritage Sets and Allied Races
  • The Warsong, Arathi, and Pandaria BG graphical revamps
  • Quests, Zones and Voice acting, always top notch as usual since Mists
  • Raids and Dungeons were interesting (from my casual perspective)
  • Account-Wide Honor System
  • AH Revamp

BFA was good if you actually play the game.

If all you do is queue for 120 BGs with like 60k health, you’re gonna have a bad time.

Heritage Armor, thats about it…

WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT BFA?

The art and modeling are fantastic…though most of the weapon mogs are a joke compared to Mists stuff. Almost like Nintedo zelda crap by comparison.
The land layout isnt too horrible even without flight…though they ‘fixed’ that by putting trash to fight every 18 feet.
What ruined BFA for me was yet another AP grind after legions, then other crap systems like this corruption abomination.

Remove corruption, the neck, the cloak, the hokey circus mechanics fit for a childs game and artifact gear joke and I might have actually wanted to play this expansion more.

I really, really liked the initial arrival in the two new continents, and the stories attached. Blizzard may have nosedived hard with their overarching plot, but doing the meta-achievements for Daughter of the Sea and Zandalar Forever featured some of the best writing Blizzard’s done so far.

The art, the zones, they all have so much life to them, and so many hidden little quirks that made them stand out. Doing all that when it was current content was a real treat, and I enjoyed it a ton. Even the weakest zone, Stormsong, was still enjoyable for me. And the music was amazing as well.

Why Blizzard insisted on leaving these two amazing islands and all their characters behind in less than a year I’ll never understand. We could have stayed all expansion in Kul Tiras and Zandalar, and just updated the zones as the story progressed.

I really enjoyed the leveling zones.

Warmode has been a ton of fun.

Allied races.

The dungeons were mostly awesome, although I still think Motherload is awful.

The raids were fun. I actually enjoyed Uldir and to me EP was the worst one but not bad.

8.2 brought a lot of fun stuff to do at a casual pace.

Horrific visions were fun.

Islands and warfronts were a bust for me, but I just don’t do islands and will only do 1 warfronts each cycle.

The 8.3 dailies and corruption story I felt were pretty cool, but I wish the coalescing essence rewards were greater so alts didn’t have to spend as much time there.

I kinda like Azerite traits, but only the 2 outer rings and tying it to neck level was pretty dumb.

Corruption is fun for a patch, but TD still needs nerfed.
