What did Ragnaros ever do?

Why do we kill him twice? I only ever played Warcraft and WoW, I didn’t buy any books to learn in-game lore. Can anyone give me the quick and dirty for why we bother him in the first place? Both times we go to his place minding his own business.

He likes to burn things, which most non-fire-based beings find undesirable.

He enslaved this guy’s entire race I think. Enslaved or entered a contract with? I forgot.

From the title, i thought you were talking about the server and I was ready to tell you.

He loves him some fire. Now, by itself, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, check out my guild name.

But the dude does not respect personal boundaries when it comes to the burninating. At all. Putting on a fine light show is all well and good, but insisting that all must be ashes is kind of a party foul.

So he had to go. And if we had to do it twice to make it stick, then, so be it.

He picked the wrong allies

Sided with old gods. Got rekt by titans.

Sided with dark iron against iron forge. Got rekt by us.

Sided with deathwing against the world. Got rekt by us.

3 strikes and he’s out. Dethroned and replaced by smolderon.

If I could raid boss my way into the Ragnaros server and just destroy bodies left and right, I could die happy.

So his crime is bad choices.

He wanted to burn Azeroth down. His presence in Vanilla WoW wasn’t particularly well pronounced from player’s perspective, but it’s there if you read the lore. If Vanilla WoW launched today there’d be a lot more story/campaign to flesh out why we go into MC to beat him up.

When Cataclysm came he teamed up with Deathwing which is why we invaded Firelands to finish him once and for all.

Yeah. Just follow the story of the elemental outside BRD. Then the elemental boss in BRD. Then the entrance to MC was in BRD as well. He was gathering his energy to invade azeroth

become a hatred server lol

He is solely responsible for one of the greatest evil being to ever walk Azeroth…

Nomi.

Nuff said.

Pretty much. A little correction is that he didn’t necessarily side with the dark iron dwarves. They did summon him with intent to use him, but they did not have control over him as much as the old gods or deathwing did.

Isn’t all crime

Because fiery purges are bad for the environment.

i say we fiery purge the taco stands of azeroth.

Thaurissan tried summoning him to use him against Ironforge, but it didn’t work out well, and Blackrock Depths kinda got owned by Ragnaros and his forces. Raggy sleeps, building his strength since he isn’t full power, but he’s still a threat to Azeroth, we step in and mess him up.

Later Deathwing summons him to burn down Nordrassil on Mount Hyjal, this time directly opening a portal to the Firelands. Raggy big threat to big tree, we go in mess him up, and this tine we break his ankles while we’re at it. Turns out his ankles are his figurative and literal ‘achilles heal’ (geddit?) and he dies for good (actually he dies for good because we kill him in his own realm but it’s fun to think that smacking his footsies is what did it)

cause hes a butthead and his hammer looks cool

Because he drops loot and someone told us to go kill him so like the mindless murder hobos that we are, we went and did that.

In other words, just another Tuesday on Azeroth.

/moo :cow:
