Makes the most sense, nobody else went near the central Heart of the Forest zone hub. especially since Anduin seals it off when he arrives.

The Mawsworn were the ones who went full Maw-Slave. The base Forsworn were the ones who, if not for their choice of ally and cartoon villain leader, would absolutely be the good guys in the Bastion story.
Honestly, it would have made for a more interesting/satisfying story if Denathrius turned out to not be the overtly obvious badguy and the Archon was instead the traitor.
Having her slav-- Kyrian continue to dump souls into the Maw, a primary MO of service that demands the dissolution of self…? Minus the aesthetic, she is 100% a villain.
