No doubt. There are also tons of references in Zandalar to Wakanda too I think.
Forgive me but I don’t understand the reference here. Is New Jersey different than say New York/Chicago Mafia theme?
I mean both Nightborne and Blood Elves are just transformed Highborne Night Elves. They all have a similar aesthetic.
Blood Elves are a little aged. They need an update for 2021 and you’d see them being nothing more than a red/gold version of Nightborne really.
I think going back to High Elves in fantasy they’re all very Western European “exquisite” and “fancy” with the hold artwork etc.

“It’s mainly the accent. That is New Jersey. And a lot of the animations and jokes are also reverent of there.”
This kind of goes into the lore of the Zandalari Empire.
The Cataclysm sunk most of the island and the Zandalari Empire lost most of it’s territory. Pretty much all of it only retaining what was left in that single zone.
The Zandalari Empire is the fall from grace. As goes the lore of the Trolls. Long ago the Trolls dominated all of Azeroth then the Titans showed up and then year by year the Trolls have shrunk in power. Slowly and surely each of the Troll nations weakened and died and now all that’s left is the Horde’s Trolls remaining as anything competitive.
Most expansions have a Troll themed raid/dungeon and by our own hands we’ve decimated all of the Troll empires. Blizzard put the cherry on top by letting the Alliance siege Dazar’alor pretty much weakening the Zandalari Empire. That’s like kicking dirt in someone’s face when they’re already dying on the ground.
Instead of Nazjatar, Blizzard should’ve gave us a patch where Azshara invaded after Sylvanas provoked them and the raid would’ve taken us to Nazjatar instead.
They could’ve done something where like Nazjatar was a swimming city and the raid was a smaller interpretation of Nazjatar where we fight outside of the Eternal Palace and then make our way into it and fight Azshara.
Then the real “zone” of the patch besides Mechagon was the sunken territory of the Zandalari Empire that we’ve now removed water from to trap the “the swimming city” we call Nazjatar.
So much cooler than 8.2 and it would’ve explained why the Zandalari Empire was so small because they’re empire was destroyed by Deathwing for the most part.
Most of WoW draws from pop culture. Goblins were released in 2010 which was one year after The Jersey Shore debuted on MTV. Some of their lines even reference this like “G.T.L, friend…Gambling, Tinkering, Laundry!” which is an obvious play on one of the famous lines from the show.

There also seems to be some Korean culture mixed in as well. You see this in the cooking dailies in darnassus, planting Kimchi pots. And the Lunar Festival outfits are reminiscent of korean outfits as well I believe.
Yea… take the NY/Chicago theme and douse it with grease and then let it go to a tanning salon. GTL my friend… Gym, Tanning, Laundry.
