No.
You walk away from pvp for a bit. Corporate only listens when you (we) vote with our wallets. See those UDK buffs? People quit over the nerfs, literally un subbed. Now there are some idiots that will troll about that, game loyalty and what not but those are the people that would play no matter what the state of the game is so don’t listen to that drivel. This is a business. When their MAU (monthly active user) count takes a hit and playtime takes a hit they have to act. Hence why they started doing all these adjustments to Mythic +. There’s a chart online that shows participation and completion in mythic plus runs, we’re at about 1/2 of what we were in DF for both atm.
Point being, stop playing or unsub and be specific about why you are unsubbing. Best time to do it is after hitting season goals (if you want them) or just now if not. Doesn’t mean it’s forever, it’s a way to convey a message in the strongest terms.
That whole rant Ghostcrawler gave back in the day about us consumers being ‘guests’ in their world was a delusional mess. Without us, there isn’t money for their world and without us there wouldn’t be a company after the initial investment money ran out. This company is a financial black hole anyway and as customers we really need to realize our worth to the company. We’re the testers, we keep the lights on, we fund the dreams with our subs. Those means aren’t created by the devs, they use the game as a medium to aquire them.
BTW classic saved retail so people really need to stop saying ‘get rid of classic.’ We wouldn’t recup those players because there are way better games out there that would take them. The answer here is Blizzard has to step up the quality a lot. Part of that is doing actual testing in Alpha/Beta and not using both as a launch pad for advertising which is what is currently being done. This is why you have wild balance swings for the first patch or two (or entire first tier of an expac) because they’re using ‘OP’ class/spec abilities (they aren’t btw just fun) to sell the expac only to yank the rug out from the playerbase a few months in. Which is why we get about 4 months of fun gaming at the end of an expac.
What would also help is the deletion of the wow token and the deletion of the cash shop. This would force the company to have to make money on merit instead of people looking to buy carries/buy mats/etc with the coin (again, blizzard sold out the community to the bots/boosters but it’s OK b/c blizzard sanctioned the token so they get their cut) which allows blizzard to collect a ‘sub fee’ anytime anyone wants to do anything. Essentially blizzard wanted to circumvent themselves not getting money from gold farmers/boosters who’s customers would pay them in real dollars so they implemented the coin, lifetime bans for Real Money transactions but no such punishment for ‘gold trading’ in game because the gold either comes from honest play (MAU gain supports company), Botting (MAU way up here b/c automated so it’s very good for them) or boosting services (again MAU goes up). These are all GOOD for blizzards bottom line so they have no real want to action it. These are just the tip of the iceberg but people don’t want to play a rigged un tested un finished rubbish heap that feels like it was programmed out of spite.
