What are your favorite FLYING mounts

Since we did Ground mounts, let’s move onto flying mounts. Much like Talbuks, I like having a theme and the majority of my characters use Hippogryphs. The Night Elves use green Cenarion Hippy the Draenei use the pink Long Forgotten Hippy and my Worgens use the black Armored Hippy from the Burning Tree quest. My few holier looking characters also use Tyrael’s Charger.

Not a fan of anything that takes a quarter to a third of the screen or more, makes it hard to see anything and have to zoom out which makes me feel like I’m moving even slower than I actually am.

Tragic. Halloween’s my favorite holiday, and I forgot about this one. Consider it added to my list (but I’m not going to edit post cause I’m lazy and it’s already after midnight. going to bed soon.)

Flying Carpets
Jewelcrafting Panthers
Spirit of Eche’ro
Archmage’s Disc
Any kind of flying horse (paladin/warlock Legion mounts, Headless Horseman, Invincible, etc)
Mystic Runesaber

Those are pretty much what I always use the most. I like smaller quieter mounts.

Varies by character, much moreso than the ground mounts. I like the Class Hall Horse for this warlock, the spider-bat from Nazmir for the shadow priest, the Cenarian Hypogriff for my belfadin (I like to think she stole that, too! Neener neener!)… the list goes on and on.

Overall, though, in terms of the most pure fun, would have to be my tauren druid’s flight form. I would always hop into the air just as I used it, too. It’s just a visual thing, I know that, but it just felt so much more fluid than using any mount.

red flying cloud, and on this character, the class hall flying discs

biggest reason is that the small size of the discs minimizes me getting confused on depth perception when airborne maneuvering. too many times on oversized mounts i’ll think i am on the ground but instead greeted by “you are flying” red error text

Off the top of my head, these are the ones I find myself using the most.

Blazing Drake/Life-Binder’s Handmaiden
Lightforged Warframe
Pureblood Firehawk
Drake of the North/East Wind
Onyxian Drake

Astral Cloud Serpent
Emerald Pandaren Phoenix
Azure Drake

I play mostly dwarves, so my go to flyer is an armored gryphon. I usually pick the color based on my gear.

I’m rather proud of my Violet Proto-Drake because I got it back when it was the only mount with a 310% movement speed.

I like a lot of the flying mounts from engineering. I’ve always loved the crude, bumpy technology that comes from gnomes/goblins, and the mounts capture that theme in a wonderful way.

Oh right this was FLYING mounts

roll a mage and they count as slow-falling mounts, which is almost similar.

My favorite flying mounts are my cloud serpents. Unfortunately, watching them writhe along the ground makes me dizzy, so they’re off the action bar until flying unlocks.

My Armoured Bloodwing bat.

He can smell fear and Gnomes from 10 miles away

They gave me whiplash in the air. during the race. at 10x ring speed. And for all that saddle juggling, I still only ever got third place.
