What are we supposed to do?

Honestly kinda frustrated here.

Every time I need help due to a bug, GMs can’t help me. I get told make a forum post, make a bug post. I get that it “logs” the issue, but it doesn’t fix it. What are we actually supposed to do to get our stuff fixed so we can actually enjoy the game and do what we are wanting to do with it?

I can’t knock out the 5 mask achievement I wanted to knock out because getting the 5th mask is bugged. I ask for help, and I am told “in fairness” GMs can’t help me. How is that fair? If someone can prove something was earned because it is earned with an achievement itself…how is it unfair to help give them that reward?

There just seems to be no help for us, and we are constantly identifying bugs and issues and hoping and praying you fix it and we get credit for that fix.

Something really does need to change at blizz. This approach of no help is terrible. It legitimately killed my desire to play the game tonight, and I was looking forward to it.

Not the answer you want to hear - nor the one we’d like to give, but the answer is wait, Dreaj.

Sometimes GMs are given instructions and permissions to step in, but the vast majority of the time that is not the case.

We used to do that a bit more. There is a potential to corrupt characters if a GM manually overrides systems on their own.

While not a common occurrence, it was often enough that policies changed.

QA has to confirm a bug, then the devs have to fix it. If they can, they also make adjustments across the board for those impacted.

None of that usually happens overnight. The process can take a little while.

How is that even an answer to the question “Why can’t I get help?” though?

Why can’t you look at the character stating the bug is there? That is verifiable proof there.

My DH, he has completed now 3 complete runs with 1 mask, and one 2 mask. No faceless mask of multitudes has dropped once. Honestly, I even solved another issue myself, as no masks have been dropping like they are supposed to. I decided to try it on another alt, something I didn’t want to do. This time I wanted to unlock it all on my paladin, but I decided to be patient and see if I can fix it myself, and did.

Here lies the issue. I only am comfortable doing this on two toons, and now both are bugged. So I can’t attempt to fix this bug myself on a 3rd toon. So, I waited from the patch drop until you released this. Defended when it was criticized actually, knew it would be fun and worth the wait. That patience was rewarded with being told again to wait.

How long do I have to wait? Do I have to wait until the last week or two these are up? Would that be sufficient, and then give up everything else I want to do to complete it?
Should I wait until the next time it is up? Would that be sufficient time to wait? Yes, that is being sarcastic but really, it is beyond frustrating to be patient, run into issues that have nothing to do with me, ask for help and be told just to wait. Especially knowing what customer service used to be for Blizz.

Are you certain you killed every mob?

Edit:

That doesn’t mean every single trash mob died, which is the requirement for multitudes. It’s not just bosses, it’s every single non-rare trash mob, hence I’m not convinced this is a bug yet.

It seems as though you may have skimmed over the response and dismissed it because it wasn’t what you were hoping to hear. However, Orlyia did provide an answer. She explained that manually overriding certain systems can pose a risk of corrupting a character. Without established procedures and proper tools in place, Game Masters are not authorized to take such actions. Doing so would not only violate internal policies but could potentially worsen the issue you’re experiencing.

Game Masters are not developers they cannot fix bugs directly and in most cases, they are unable to resolve the effects of a bug either.

That’s why we ask players to submit bug reports. These reports help our Quality Assurance (QA) team identify, reproduce, and ultimately fix the underlying issues. The more data and examples we have, the better the chances of resolving the problem in a way that benefits everyone affected.

It sounds less like the issue was “fixed” and more that the problem did not occur on your alternate character. This is a common challenge with bugs, they aren’t always consistent or easy to reproduce, which makes it harder for the QA team to identify a root cause and develop a solution.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide a specific timeline. The QA team investigates reported issues and works to resolve them as quickly as possible. Issues that affect a large portion of the player base or block progression are typically given higher priority. That said, identifying the source of a bug and developing a reliable fix can be complex and time-consuming.

We understand the sentiment, but rest assured, our customer service teams have always done their best within the guidelines and tools provided by the developers. While we’ve occasionally been able to assist in similar cases in the past, the ability to do so has always depended on the specific systems and support paths available at the time. Developer tools and policies dictate what actions we can take, and in cases like this, those options are very limited.

Had 5 complete (big)chests and each bosses hologram thing was green representing completed, so yeah. 3 times/

Oh I read it. I just didn’t think my actual response would be conducive to this because I am trying my hardest to not sounds like a Karen here, though complaining about not getting help makes it hard lol. My response was: Then Blizz should give you tools that won’t do that to fix issues when the players have provable issues. We pay to play content, then can’t even get the rewards we earn. That is beyond infuriating, especially when the only people we reach out to for help say they are powerless to help because Blizz can’t or won’t give them what they need to help us. Don’t get me wrong, I get that it’s easy to sit here saying this. Just, I mean from the consumers POV, how difficult something is, well it isn’t our issue though.

and that is great, for long term issues. Thing is, like right now. SW goes away for a week to after this reset. Do we know if the issue is fixed before then? Do we know if Org won’t do the same? We have to wait. Gonna be a jerk here for a second, and state that I did this before when they were current, and didn’t run into these issues. How is it if these are tested, and its a wide spread bug enough that even the GM that responded to me told me it is, it wasn’t caught and fixed? This isn’t a small bug like transmog not getting rewarded. Preventing you from completing achievements that prevent you from getting rewards isn’t small dude. Especially on a timed rotation, on a time limited event.

To be pedantic…the problem was fixed for me. I wanted to get my masks to work towards my achievement, and I got the masks. Does it fix the reason for the bug? Nope. Absolutely not. Does it fix the fact I didn’t have what I earned? Yeah. Could it help others? Absolutely, which is also why on my forum post about it I posted it so others could try it.

and yeah, I get that, logically. Thing is man, this isn’t just about logic. We have had a lot of bugs with this patch, bugs that have me not wanting to play new content as its released. It feels like we are being unpaid QA. Yes, I know you can’t prevent that personally. Don’t get me wrong. We as players though NEED somewhere to actually get help and get resolution for. That is what makes our effort and patronage feel respected. Without any actual help with stuff like this, for right or wrong it feels like we are being told we should just be happy with what we have, and if it doesn’t work just be glad for what does.
I have played buggy games before. I mod bethesda games and play them. Games that are buggy already before you tweak the code. I did a playthrough where I had to COC to specific areas because the mods made going into the city almost impossible. Did I complain? No. Because ways around it were known to me, and I could fix it on way or another. I can’t here. I know what its like to have to take what you can get, but I honestly don’t feel like this should be the case for a game we pay to play. Part of paying for a service…is well getting that service.

and yeah, I get that. Disagreeing and irritation over something isn’t a lack of understanding. You are getting your hands tied by higher ups. Don’t take anything I am saying here as stating no one isn’t doing their job now. You can’t help if you are being essentially screwed here. My argument and issues at this point is with that hand tying. Who do we complain to on that? What exactly do we do to get something done there? All I see is to quit a game I have played for over a decade, and hope it gets better, or just sit here, playing and dealing with these issues that get no resolution unless there is luck involved (from my perspective). I don’t know if players need a advanced customer service team, or something but seriously we do need actual help for issues, and not have WoWhead articles be suggested first…when most of the time those just give us work arounds to issues.

You are mistaking us being unable to assist with our hands being tied. It isn’t that simple.

To resolve an issue we often need procedures to be put in place to do so, which usually takes time to develop. So do they spend time developing a means to provide a workaround, assuming one isn’t already available, or do they work on the issue itself to see about getting it fixed quickly?

What really makes a difference is receiving reports. So, since there isn’t really anything else I can add here I’m going to lock this thread up an encourage those who may be experiencing this issue to submit a bug report either through the Bug Report forum or through the in-game option found in the Support menu.
