What are some of your Launch Day Traditions?

What are some of your favorite routines or traditions for the launch of a new Xpac?

I for one like to grab a terrible Little Ceasars pizza, Mountain Dew, throw on some early 2000s music, X-play recordings, and party like it’s 2008.

My favorite routine is go to work for 14 hours. Come home too tired to do anything. Turn on twitch and watch everyone else play.

Also working and then come home, servers are too full, too tired to wait, & just go to bed lol

Get home as soon as work is done, login or most likely TRY TO LOGIN for hours to play a laggy buggy mess.

Although the last two expansions went off rather well.

No traditions, I just play it by ear each time.

Reading the meltdown on the forums.

“I TOOK PTO FOR THIS”
“WHY RESPAWNS SO LOW!”
“Servers up guys…”
“Xpac sucks even though I haven’t been able to log in and try it”
“I want compensation for maintenance!”

Too funny xD.

Yeah, first day, if I can log in and get the breadcrumb quest, I’ll call that a win.

Get my snack, usually goldfish, and coffee. Jump right into story/quest completion per zone.

Only change I might do this time since there is early access is to just mine and herb so I can get in early on the AH selling mats. Then when full launch happens I’ll join everyone else in leveling.

ya I do not bother with the game on launch day , too long of queues and game issues.

Sitting in VC with my guildies throughout the day waiting for the expansion to go live. Just hanging out, having fun, counting down the final hours to launch.

I’m working until 4 and it launches at 3 on the 22nd. Haven’t decided yet if I’m going to take a partial day and leave at 1-2. Already have the 23rd booked off. I have yet to regret taking time off for a an expansion launch, even when there are issues.

Regardless of how the early access launch goes on the 22nd I’ll be spending time with my guildies and enjoying whatever the game may throw at us.

This is hilarious and too true. Love it. Love participating in it too, sometimes. Gotta complain about something! It’s a wow player’s past time.

Mmmm, breadcrumbs. Are they from garlic toast?

I’m usually playing something else and then don’t launch or buy the game until my guild goes, “where is so and so?”, then I buy the game lol.

Social motivation is really the only thing keeping me playing, I don’t even dislike the game either, it’s just not that deep anymore. There are deeper more engaging games for sure.

I used to enjoy going to Walmart and grabbing my copy at midnight. I would always see my fellow WoW nerds there.

Now I just play in silence, so I don’t disturb the mini Kimlins.
