I enjoy going for a walk and getting some last-minute exercise in, because I know I’m going to be sitting at the computer for a while.
Right before launch I will usually eat. This doesn’t always work though, because sometimes queue times or just log in issues happen.
If that happens, I usually go to bed early and plan to get up early the next day when less people are on.

The meltdown always makes me laugh too.
I don’t go into a new launch of anything expecting a smooth time. More entertaining watching frustration and meltdown and just choosing not to get booty bothered.
I usually order pizza :3

Well launch day is the only time in the expansion I would be spending 3 maybe 4 hours straight before I have to get up cause my knees would then hurt

That is why I am actually glad for buying that 2nd tier game. Four days after the special people run the servers and crash them.

It used to be “being there” when the expansion goes live.
When Wrath launched, it was really neat to watch the boat to Northrend just “fade in” at the dock. It didn’t arrive, like it does today. It just showed up. That was pretty cool. “Once in WoW” moment.
When Cata launched, everyone was stacked up on the flight trainer, waiting for the clock to tick over so we could all buy flying and run off to Hyjal. The Cata experience is why they put a big bubble around Khadgar when WoD launched. They knew he would be swarmed.
It seems recently, we’ve been “down” when the expansion launched, so there hasn’t been much of that. By the time we logged in, everything was already there.

Here comes another classic ‘I’m an original vanilla player with the collectors edition pets, so take my word for it’ post. But for me, it’s a tradition to reflect on how things are going to change in my future, it’s like a new beginning, and it gives me butterflies.
I hope the music is great, there are a couple of tracks I really liked, though I preferred Shadowlands more compared to Dragonflight, and also with the 20th anniversary, I’m sure it’ll hit me right in the feels, so this one has to be special or Blizzard will have failed. It can’t suck.
Other than that, eat Pizza and drink a lot of nitro cold brews. I can’t have work the next day so thankfully we work 4x10 hour days and get off, so it works in my favor, I get to play it on August 22, which we all know wont happen, but you get the point, then get 4 days off with Labor day so I will have plenty of time to play.
I don’t have launch day traditions but I can tell you about my laundry day traditions.

Go to work, come home, and log in a week later.
Play with my dogs while I wait in a login queue.
Sometimes change it up a bit and might even throw on a TV show or a movie.

ALL of them.
My longest standing launch day tradition has fallen. I would blitz ICC 25H with all my toons that were max level from the past expac in a bid to get Invincible in addition to my weekly 1-2 chars per week.
…Then I got him today, so now I have to find a new tradition.
