What an A-Hole Move

So in a time when a lot of people in Australia have lost their jobs due to a global pandemic, many companies over here have decided to not increase the costs of services to consumers as it would be perceived as a bit of a jerk move and kicking people while they are already down.
I understand that the subscription fee did have to increase sometime but this seems to be a very poorly timed move.

So to finish up I would like to direct an old Australian insult towards Bli$$ard.
“I hope all your chooks turn into emus and kick your dunny door down!”
Love,
Australia

to be fare they didn’t increase the price, they just adjusted it to be the same due to a change in the exchange rate

It’s less then the price of a packet of smokes, get over it

True, but at the end of the day the Australian consumer pays more now. Which means more money out of our wallets and into Blizzards already substantial coffers.
I understand that it would happen one day but this is just poor bloody timing.

The service costs $15 US that is what you pay now. Kiwis and Canadians can deal with it and so can you.

i agree with you, its bad timing and they could of taken a hit for a few months seeing as they are reporting record profit right now, but at the same time you cant blame blizz for the socio economic problems of Australia, blame your goverment for tanking your dollar

You’re literally talking about a company that laid off hundreds of employees during a record breaking profit year, among many other BS stunts. I don’t know what you thought was going to happen…

I don’t see you getting a lot of sympathy on the US forums when through all this time Australians were technically paying less than we were…

OH NO you’re paying the same as we are.

They are technically paying a few cents less. Surprised how entitled some Aussies are.

I suppose one decent thing is if you stayed subbed they aren’t going to start charging us the new rate until June next year. I’ll give Blizzard that at least.

I’m not listening to someone that lost a war to emus.

Remember the time that the Canadian dollar was worth more than the USD, but Blizz didn’t adjust the rate Canadians pay per month and leaving it higher than their US subscriptions? I remember, as well as pepperidge farm.

Blizz does whatever they can to get more. They don’t care about saving you money at all.

Good point. The heads up was at least a chance for people to lock in the old price for a bit longer. I just know a few people now that can barley cover the cost of living and would not have the funds to pay that far in advance.

Thanks for the price rise during a global pandemic, not to mention a waist deep recession that majority of the world is facing.

This is honestly a dirty greedy act.

Also OP there’s an official blue on the Oceanic General Discussion about this might be best to pick it up from there :+1:

but beware I got suspended for a day because of the snowflakes…

I will be honest, the shame of losing that war hangs heavy in the heart of every true blue Aussie every day we wake up.
The Koala population seems to be amassing weapons and setting up bases in key strategic areas so we might need to keep a close eye on the little buggers in the near future.

I can’t recall the sub rate being reduced when the exchange rate went the other way. Perhaps others could fill me in on that.
