I can’t recall a time that they have ever done it. Adjustments are always about them getting more, never about saving the consumer money when the exchange rate changes that makes that countries money stronger. They just keep the price up there and skim off the top.
Well at least you got this part right ![]()
For those that are unaware, this insult is just about the nastiest thing an Aussie can say. Emus are no joke! They won a war against the Australian military!
This guy’s playing with serious fire here.
At least? What did I get wrong? I am mildly curious.
So, its ok for them to increase the price when its in their favour but not decrease it when its in ours?
Look, me personally, I’m not too concerned about two or three dollars. I’d personally just think it would be a nice move if the prices quoted for us were US dollars and when we paid our sub the amount charged matched the current exchange rate. Would that be too much to ask? I don’t think so.
Of course, if our dollar bombed I’d probably feel a bit different…
The future with teus in your eyes? What’s teus? ![]()
Netflix is upping it’s monthly fee in December.
if it was in tune to the exchange rate… it would change every day. Lets not forget there are laws and things that increase the costs over there also… along with the government telling you what you can/cannot buy in terms of games/entertainment.
Not to long ago you had aussies saying its okay to chargeback and blizzard cant do anything about it. That increases costs.
What is the cost of a 1 month sub in Aussie dollars atmo? Like before the price hike
In the world of Activision? Not only is it OK, it’s EXPECTED. Why decrease the price when they get that much more above their US subscription price when the other countries currency strengthens? To the consumer, it’s a dollar to three. To them over all their customers? That’s a LOT of money they would be leaving off the table that they just get for free. If they did what you wanted, it would be quite the loss of potential money.
No not really its mainly because of the exchange rate…they have been paying roughly 10 usd a month for the last 5 years
Thanks for the heads up. I will add Netflix to my list of companies that are run by a pack of no good heartless bloody drongos!
they have to recoup from the losses from cuties.
i’m so mad this found a way to affect me
Ok they should have given you a freaking 8 cents discount in 2012
Exaggeration much. The amount of people who would take Blizzard to task over such things would be tiny. You over-amplify how many of us there and how few would take things to that extreme.
And thats fine if it changes everyday. If its an automatic algorithm of some sort, they wouldn’t need to do anything.
Anyhow, Im not going to argue about this anymore. I’m just trying to imagine what would happen if Blizzard started hiking up American sub rates. I guess everyone there would take it happily?
a few months in 2007 and a few months in 2008 not consecutively? thats hardly a equal representation, the flux was an outlier due to a US recession that recovered to a normalized trend, wasn’t a need to adjust it just to adjust it again when the marked reset to normalcy. where the AD has been in slow decline for a while plus them already paying less, this change makes sense.
same can be said about any business, they exist to make a profit or they close.
the Canadian or the Aus one? because if Canadian see above if Aus then remember you were already paying less than everyone else
I can already see it in the future for this game. I wonder if everyone would be fine with it? ![]()
What is the cost of a 1month sub right now in Aussie dollars?
About 10 bucks usd or 16.99 aur meh typo thinking usd lol
