Please stop shunting my tickets, I need customer support. One my my characters is screwed up now, lost the whole tree of previously learned tradeskills because of … well possibly incorrect advice, outdated information, or a bug, or my own ignorance about how things are setup now. Submitting a ticket ingame, but please help if you are able.
If you could provide more information we might be able to help but no one is “shunting” your tickets.
well, this is me asking about how re-learning professions works, apparently the information was incomplete or outdated
and, this is me asking about how to fix a problem as I just nuked at profession thinking that I could pay some 1k price at a trainer to re-establish it
and apparently from a deeper search there’s a lot of misinformation on this, with people ingame thinking that of course you can do that and are astonished that you can’t and from looking in the ticket system I can see that there is a whole section dedicated to restoring professions
I submitted a ticket, but if there’s anything you guys know know more can add that woudl be great
If you’re talking about the books to relearn recipes, that’s literally all they do. They don’t reinstate lost skill ranks.
The trainer themselves are not the ones selling them, but the nearby recipe vendors.
I would be really really interested in learning where these wonderful recipe-restore books would be, because they aren’t where people say they are
and I could live with ranks not being exactly “just so” and having to relearn them
Yeah, I just edited that into my post. What are the professions in question?
inscription, had a look around the trainer, trying another city
I should also specify that the recipes learned from those books are the recipes learned solely from quests, since you can’t redo those quests.
But you’ll want to check Legion’s Dalaran and Dazar’alor; I don’t know if they implemented them with main city vendors.
well, I visited Dalaran (legion) and there was indeed a 1k book, it restored nothing, like not one thing … all it did was drain 1k. I guess there might be a book for each xpac now? and … no. hm, this seems to be really dodgy, wow.
Yikes, I’m honestly not sure. Haven’t had to restore quest recipes in BfA, yet. :c
yeah, I would not recommend trying this. I was curious about the pandaland recipes as those were learned over time, timegated … or I might be mixing up professions … yeah, this part of the game is not tied together.
The books only allow you to relearn recipes gained from quests, since it is not possible to redo the quests to get them back. All other recipes need to be re-acquired normally (purchase, drop, etc). There was never an intention for one to drop a profession without consequences.
I don’t mean to be overly snarky but I do wish my original threads hadn’t been bopped from CS, maybe I would have gotten the correct information then. because it appears there’s a a bit of misinformation out there, hindsight 20/20
It depends on the content of the thread and which forum it was moved to. Technically speaking, CS is the wrong forum for this, which is why it was moved. CS is only for account- and billing-related issues, not game issues.
What other players choose to add isn’t restricted, but the greater chance of finding someone that can adequately answer your issue is within the forums that they’re moved to, as that’s what they specialize in.
I believe you, but it wasn’t always that way, kind of a moving target over time
Uh, not really. The CS forum has been for account and billing-related issues for as long as I’ve been posting… which is about seven or eight years now? Now its possible things were different before then but I doubt it.
I’ve seen a lot of people here help others in CS over a variety of things, and many other people have too, it’s been very helpful at times. I’d say it could be a touch more clear if you guys are very serious about that. Why not change the name to “Account Support” or something like that? But … of course people would then make stuff up and complain about Blizzard not having any more customer support or something. Still, would be more to the point.
(and ofc, thankyou for the help)
There was a question along those lines asked sometime late last year, or maybe earlier this year, I can’t exactly remember. Vrak mentioned something about it being easier to promptly direct players to where they need to go instead of leaving them back on the directory, unsure of where they were meant to go.
It isn’t that we’re serious about it, but as I said, as players like you, those of us with white and green text aren’t as focused and aren’t solely stuck on the categories as Blizzard employees can (and, perhaps, should?) be, and we often still direct people to the appropriate forums for more pointed assistance if we can’t provide it.
If there are opportunities where we can chime in with what we do know, we can take them. But then at that point, someone might be making a habit of expectations where there are none to be had.
That second paragraph is so poorly worded, but the point is there are forums with special designations for a reason, and each forum has their set of supervision with guidelines to follow.
tx man. appreciate the chimein
